Speaking of eating meals in yorkshire puddings. I suppose since the kids came aliong I've lost touch with what they sell for pub lunches

Went for a meal at lunchtime today and had a steak pie which was in a dish covered with a crust. There was a craze for them years ago.
About as practical as eating clear broth with chopsticks.
Do any NPs agree this is the most awkard meal to eat? Or if not, what?

And speaking of burger bars, why are they called restaurants instead of say cafes when
    1)they have no drinks license.
    and
2)they make you queue and collect your food on a tray instead of having waiters/waitresses serve you.

    I love quirky.

Doozerboy would sort the roof for you or put you in the right direction. If it's a flat one, there's a more long term solution now that looks quite attractive. Just take it into acount when negotiating.

Are you planning to sell it in the future?
It's not flat - and it's new. It's bizarre. But I can't tell you the link else it'll get loads-a-hits and they'll think it's popular.... and maybe in a year's time I might want it,..... and if they don't think it's popular it might go down more.
    :)

I'll link once it's gone SSTC .... I'm sure somebody will buy it now at the current price, to be honest. While it doesn't stack up on its own merits .... compared to the competition it's easily going to be top dog for many.

On the plus side, yesterday, my son had a good day. He was paid £13 an hour (+50% for overtime) to sit in an extremely good seat in Centre Court and watch the Ladies' final. He's also complaining that after a time it gets boring watching the beach volleyball so much. On the minus side, he also had to drive 200 miles.
Nice work if you can get it. 200 miles is nothing!!

And killing cats. We're still killing cats by building.
I knew self-abuse kills kittens.... didn't know about cats.

Re panels - bizarre, but is it possible to put some material on your roof where the panels would go .... then go bang on their door and say "Ere geezer.... this is where they'd be.... see.... wat ya finkin?"

Doozer, what about those pv tiles instead of the panels? I think they are gorgeous. Was it you who linked them? I would have them here if we weren't listed.
I was going to ask that, but knew somebody else'd ask.

Round this way I've noticed some very blue tiles used on a lot of the very very very posh/expensive houses (as well as some of the very expensive flats/houses).... and I've wondered if they're a particular brand of the tiles. They're like a royal blue mediterranean pottery colour... most out of keeping with everything around them.

Tricky, Pastures. Is there any chance of somewhere for you to rent on your own while you wait for the right house to buy?
No. Several issues have arisen, but, overall, it's a combination of: not really sure where any work might be, not really sure where I need to be, most studios don't have any ORP, they're in the wrong places ... and then the chestnut of not actually 'working' so lack of references and awkwardness over whether a LL would/would not accept 6 months' rent up front.... and then, the whole timescale to try to investigate/resolve those issues when I actually had to find somewhere to live as an urgency. No real time to investigate the market/area/options etc.

There's a girl on Come Dine With Me.... not sure I could eat at her house now I've heard her name.... Candida.

For real.... I had to google to make sure I hadn't thought that meant something else... but no ..... it does mean what I thought... ewwwww.

I also googled her name, in case she spelt it differently ... but no!!

I have been waking a lot due to the current cough. On Saturday/Sunday middle of night I was sitting sleeping in an armchair and woke as I heard a cat crying faintly. Fearing for my littlest cat I opened the stting room window looked and listened - no sign or sound of her, went outside looked and listened, no cat but wheezy cat cry near by, heard wheezy cat cry sound again. Not a cat but my own wheezy chest breathing.

Spirit, thats both funny and terrible. I get wheezy so no exactly the sound you mean, but its not good.
