PS Doozer - did you get my PM with the grid reference of my friend's house, and did you have any ideas as to what she should do?

ETA Can anyone explain the difference in price between the one I've just linked to and this one? I'm mystified, and have no idea which of the two I've got. It looks like that, anyway.

One you have to mix the water yourself, it's just a posher version of a tap with two handles and one spout. The other is thermostatic and will test the temperature to make it flow out at the right temperature for you.

If the kids flush the loo, you'll still get a drop in pressure/change in temperature from a thermostatic if you don't have a pressurised central heating system. It won't be scalding though.

I haven't even opened your PM, I forgot :o Will look shortly!

Well, I think we are all a bit concerned about you.

On the plus side, yesterday, my son had a good day. He was paid £13 an hour (+50% for overtime) to sit in an extremely good seat in Centre Court and watch the Ladies' final. He's also complaining that after a time it gets boring watching the beach volleyball so much. On the minus side, he also had to drive 200 miles.

And your son to my good things list. :)

I appreciate the concern, really I do, but i appreciate the space to rant or moan as much as that. :o

I am pretty certain i am indestructable, but if not then ...well, not. But pretty sure this ain't gonna do it, not yet anyway. I have been really worried about my eyesight, but the plan is the lumbar puncture should help that. He said today, btw, not to bother doing anything if the sight goes between now and neurlogist again. Hasn't gone last few days certainly. I have probably been asleep too much.

I told him today my hours of wake for the last three days and i could see him thinking 'lazy mare':o. I fell asleep between when i posted earlier and now too. Woke up making a very odd noise, dh was in stitiches. He is also gonna come to the neurology appt too, and probably gp later in the week, so i feel well taken care of.

Doozer, the only thing i can say is the more they get to know the doozers i have met the less resistance there can be. You are such a super family, you will be a real asset to a neighbour hood.

I just think you have to roll wipth peoples fears. You can counter the objections raised, which is better than having objections whipch are uncounterable, and just keep smiling at the neighbours. You will won them over eventually. Any of numer 23 doesn't come round my guess is that you will not be th only ones who have problems.

Yes. Its not ideal to eat stones, but unlikely to do much harm. Big dog eats plums , stones and all, from thea tree, but loves greengages more. They both eat plums, dog dog only because she doesn't want big dog having stuff sheis not getting, they also eat apples they pick themselves.

Do not feed grapes, dried fruit or choc, liver, heavily garlicked or onioned food or scraps. Otherwise i feed our dog sage left overs to them.

Further investigation indicates that there's an industry standard for the pipes, so I should be able to fit almost any thermostatic mixer. I am going to try to buy just the mixer valve unit - no point in paying for hose, head, riser rail etc when I've already got some. I am thinking of this one. I know it's not as exciting as lir's amethyst or wooden bath ideas, but what do the NP think of it?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I think if this is your forever house, it's worth buying something like a Bristan. Triton is fine but random import - no. Even if you move things about, you can reinstall a decent shower elsewhere. For something ike a thermosatic shower, high use with moving complicated bits inside, the simple fact that these imports seem to either work or not initially (IME) and the intention of not wanting to fit one again myself ever, wouldn't be worth it.

I have neither attempted or considered attempting to fit a shower. If I were you, would I try? If I could get the kids out, turn the water off safely and have a back up strong man within a day just in case? Possibly.

Measure the distance between your exisiting pipes sticking out of the wall and make sure the dimensions are the same on whatever you buy. If yours is a Triton, it might be worth buying another for the increased likelihood of it fitting!

I have been waking a lot due to the current cough. On Saturday/Sunday middle of night I was sitting sleeping in an armchair and woke as I heard a cat crying faintly. Fearing for my littlest cat I opened the stting room window looked and listened - no sign or sound of her, went outside looked and listened, no cat but wheezy cat cry near by, heard wheezy cat cry sound again. Not a cat but my own wheezy chest breathing.

I like the look of it. Do you have any feedback on the quality of it? We refitted our bathroom last month (kept the existing bath and all taps as they are perrin & rowe and we really like them), but chose a briston shower mixer as we were advised the reliability was good.

Doozer, what about those pv tiles instead of the panels? I think they are gorgeous. Was it you who linked them? I would have them here if we weren't listed.

I would. I'm scared to go shopping and ask questions until we have permission. It had been mentioned to me by a man that they weren't as efficient for the price as they could/should be so I will be careful about it.
I'm pretty certain we will get the permission as this house has been designed specifically to the Case Officers requests and it contravenes nothing. We could almost go ahead and build it under permitted development, it's actually that unobtrusive to the neighbours. But I won't tempt fate by shopping yet. :o

re: you. Is your lumber puncture to relieve the pressure? Will you have to stay in - are they incredibly painful?
