Re panels - bizarre, but is it possible to put some material on your roof where the panels would go .... then go bang on their door and say "Ere geezer.... this is where they'd be.... see.... wat ya finkin?"
Haha, I love that picture!
The roof doesn't exactly exist yet. There is a flat roof on the existing building.
Some of this stuff is in their heads. Fact is, no one seems to actually acknowledge what is actually on the site there currently. A big Heath Robinson style commercial building with a scrap yard that used to be filled with filthy blokes wandering around and a proper grease monkey outside telephone bell that rang louder than anything you've ever heard. I wish I'd left it connected now!
They just don't notice it anymore. Much like I think they will fail to notice the low rise house, with it's green garden once it's built.
They've even asked what we will do in our present house without a garden. a) my children don't have a garden to play in right now! b) it will have a garden with green grass and a raised patio and green plants.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Doozer, it will mainly relieve pressure, but they will run tests on my juices too, so both diagnostic and theraputic.0

Further investigation indicates that there's an industry standard for the pipes, so I should be able to fit almost any thermostatic mixer. I am going to try to buy just the mixer valve unit - no point in paying for hose, head, riser rail etc when I've already got some. I am thinking of this one. I know it's not as exciting as lir's amethyst or wooden bath ideas, but what do the NP think of it?
Err....my thermostatic mixer + shower cost more than the shower enclosure but I bought Grohe and I wanted it to last. Also, it's much more difficult to replace. So I would (personally) go for the most expensive I can afford at the moment and get someone to do it. But I am rubbish at DIY.0 -
I have no opinion .... it's the thing you turn the shower on/off with .... never thought about them really, not got much experience of showers and their workings.... so long as I can get a shower to work and be the right temperature within a minute of seeing it, that's me happy.....what do the NP think of it?0 -
Was that a completely pointless super-flakey-puff pastry that explodes all over the table/your lap/the carpet the minute you try to cut it? Hate those.......had a steak pie which was in a dish covered with a crust. There was a craze for them years ago.
About as practical as eating clear broth with chopsticks.
Do any NPs agree this is the most awkard meal to eat? Or if not, what?0 -
Once you lot start naming brands... I've never heard of them.... but I KNOW they're posh alerts!!
I'd never ever heard of Farrow & Ball paint before I came to MSE!0 -

Nice work if you can get it. 200 miles is nothing!!
Perhaps it was tactless of me to mention it. Hmmm.
200 miles around London is quite a bit, as average speed in Central London is around 12mph IIRC. 200 miles on motorways isn't such a problem. I must ask him where he drove yesterday.
All those taxi drivers protesting about not being able to use Olympic lanes - nothing to stop them applying for his job!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I like pot pies. I like that its some pastry ( i love flakey or puff pastry) but not so much that it will kill me.
I don't like a watertb gravy though, in any sort of pie. Or at all really.0 -
Gdb, not tactless, kind.
Btw any one who reckons the equestrian games are for toffs should try and catch an interview with the gold winning sj team.0
