Seriously, that's the way their mind works.

Example that you can see repeated again and again on grabbit board.

Buy something at Tesco that is £1 cheaper at Asda, that gives you a JTD ( just the difference) money off Tesco shopping from Tesco. = £1 "saving".

Now you use the £1 voucher on your next shop, buy something for £1 that is buy-one-get-one-free, so you buy 2, So you have saved £1 from the BOGOF and using your JTD voucher brings your total bill down £1 + £1 = £2 "saving".

Then, in a feat that explains the country's economy, you add the £2 to the £1 and tell everyone you have saved £3, just by shopping at the more expensive store in the first place.

    That’s just....stupid thinking...and I think I’m a stereotypical NP by saying that, too :)

I dump my 1,2,5 and 10p pieces in a sealed piggy bank, only to be opened when we go away in the summer. The amounts are so tiny the only difference I notice is that my handbag is a little easier to carry but it sure adds up over the year.

Ok, we are not talking mega money but £20 or £30 makes all the difference for us.

I keep all the 1, 2 and 5p pieces that I get and have some of those bags that the bank provide - when a bag is full (£1 for coppers, £5 for 5ps), they get banked. Not going to make me rich but it'll come in handy one day.

we have allotment :) It has rhubarb (nicer than the one I managed to grow) some straggly raspberry, a gooseberry and potentially a better currant tree than the ones I have in my garden.

the soil is better than what we have (but it's been worked on a bit longer than ours I guess)

And now to plan....it's only 6x10meters, which is the area of my veg patch at home. So now I can grow enough!

Martin and Mrs MSE expecting a little MSE.

I'm sure he/she will give more joy than £87m.

Are they? Where did you find that out from? I can't find it anywhere.

Tired. Got my exam paper finished, agreed with the other teachers, copied, counted up, bagged, and delivered, so I won't loom over me for half term. :) But still haven't started on my CTC form. :(

Builder planning to come and do a bit more tomorrow. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Came home to no internet (or phone or non-freeview telly). That's the problem with my ultra-fast service. It just randomly disappears from time to time. Never for long but now I'll be around the house it naturally disconnects us for a holday period.
