It's completely cloudy, and pitch dark.... and windy ..... and there are full length glass doors .... and my light being on makes me a "beacon in the darkness"....

Can you hang something over the door? Like a duvet cover or something? Have something heavy to hand (always makes_ me feel more protected)?

OK I wouldn't recommend driving when drunk but I wouldn't recommend avoiding hospital when you need to go. CK's a bit far away but is there a nearer taxi service? By the way I knwo the answer's yes.

Don't say it's expensive- this is a time to remember that economy is our servant, not our god!

Sorry Martin if you're spying on this thread.

I'm sure Martin treats himself to a taxi nowadays ;)
Is the Dr at least on the way? (as in sometime in the next 3 hours)

on another note: someone has asked me to buy some commemorative coins. is www.royalmint.com kosher and not a dodgy one that will send you loads of bumpf etc?

DH has bought some commemorative coins and has always bought them from the Royal Mint. The website is to the best of my knowledge legit, however to put your mind at rest, here's a link from Direct.gov to the Royal Mint website:

Dr has not yet called back.

Hospital is too far for a taxi, really it is, the minor injuryunit or whatever is not, but no doctor there, just nurses. The doctor there is the put of hours one, who has not called back yet so.....anyway, i could drive there no problem if they will see me, so just have to wait and see.

I will wait for their call.

No, lovely! And think, that cow munching means it believes all is safe and calm. As prey animals cows are on the alert for things that might hurt them, while the ow is munching its reassuring that all is safe and sound. :)

I liked the cow in your picture :-) When we see highland cattle (that's what we call them anyway, like your pic but auburn) - we say that it's my dad's relatives and say hello. He is Scottish and before going grey he was quite ginger. He once said to me and my bro that he was blond when he was younger. We still laugh about that now :D
