Oh gos, it sounds heavenly! I can understand why you would be unnerved but, wow. I am. A bit envious. We keep sayiong we will go and sleep in the dutch barn in the hope of a summer storm, but then it seems too exhausting to drage duvets out there and haul me up on top of the hay.
Unsited mobile homes will be aplenty at the end of the season.... and cheap. You could snap one up and site it on your land easily enough :)

This one had been a private/family holiday home, on a site, so rarely used before these owners bought it and plonked it here.

If we ever meet ... I'll tell a little story about this location ..... it has 'recent history' .... and ... er ... loony/ne'er do well connections... connections that might return. And ... it doesn't help that I was also googling this address and murder last night ...

    :)

The address is known locally for its past activities, not its address.

Hmmm... I can see how that might not have helped you feel relaxed! Perhaps save that for when you are no longer staying there?!

Haha, rhe right general direction from you would have been stonehenge:D

Peoblem subsiding after a good night's sleep. And its a pretty morning, so not wasting it, and we have friends coming for lunch.

In the end instead of an out of hours doctor a nurse called me. Her advice was directly contradictory to the nhs website for this sort of problem. Which is. Confusing.
I never know what to do when you get contradictory medical advice, but my gut instinct would be take the advice that takes care of the worst scenario IYKWIM.

Glad you made it to today in one piece but still worried you're ignoring something.

Kind of OK... I nodded off, then the torrential rain beating on the tincan roof woke me up... then I nodded off... and was eventually woken by some banging in the field as the cows' owner decided it was an ideal day to do something in the stable-like structure in the corner.

Glad you got some sleep PN.
Stay away from thriller and horror stories/movies.:naughty:
And if the rain doesn't stop for forty days and forty nights, warn us to start building boats!:D

I live at the top of a hill. I may yet get prime beachfront real estate:o. Do you think it's too early to apply to change my house name to The Moorings?
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

From my experience with 'The Coach House', I don't think you need to let minor details stop you :)

There's one of those random fords about 30' from me, by the exit to the field... in fact, looking at the lay of the land, if that floods it'll flood my exit route first... I am probably 6' above the height of that, at best.... but when you see how these flash floods go on bad days we know that 6' isn't enough. My 'on foot' escape route isn't cut off and immediately goes up another 2'.

The owner did say nobody's ever known the ford to be more than about 4" deep .... and there's nothing significant or unusual that feeds into it. But you still wonder why the ford markers go up to 6' don't you :)

I have that - and the super-heightened sense of odd smells (everything is always burning....). I called a gas man to a leak a few months ago and he said "I am totally stunned you could notice it...... my machine can barely pick it up".

Awww... licking his furry b4llz :) that DOES make a lot of noise though.

I'm the same with smells but I never used to be, it apears to be a side effect in the recovery from my break down.

Drives me crackers...as I am always one step away (well sometimes a lot closer), in thinking my house is about to burn down.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Me too. I am petrified to plug anything in, or use anything. I can rarely use any form of oven, or shower, or heating system. The only things I am OK/safe about are my PC and a telly really. Anything else electrical and I have a meltdown. If an oven has 4 hob rings, I can never use more than 2 and am petrified while they're working. I imagine that inside every wall/ceiling of anywhere I am living the wires are going into meltdown. Even electric lights give me the heeby-jeebies as I fear that behind the ceiling there's something that the wires are heating up .....

I always say that in a perfect home scenario, the kitchen, bathroom, etc and all heating systems should be external to my living/sleeping areas.....

I hate to admit it .... but it's dead creepy here... I mean REALLY creepy ... and I'm totally scared as it's all black out there and mid-nowhere :(

    *cries*

Did you survive the night? Quality of survival?

Last night, the sky was clear, almost full moon. Lovely!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
