You also tend to get free computer time if you are a member. All you need to do for most libraries is get a letter sent to your new address and bring the envelope in showing it, or have a formal doc with it on, such as a letting contract. If push comes to shove, e-mail me your address, I'll write to you and once delivered you can take it into your local library as proof of address.
As for free computer time, here it's 30 minutes (it never used to be free) - and they're always full.
I might not be able to get a letter sent to my new address... the type of addresses I often use don't have an address/letter box etc. I also don't want random addresses dotted here and there as most people use your address at future random dates for marketing materials .... and I hate the thought of spam letters arriving all over the place in my name.
At the moment I've no idea what sort of place I'll be staying at. I'll be moving round a bit too.... e.g. if I can only book into a B&B for 2 nights, then the next one I might be 30 miles away for 3-4 ...etc.
It'll be the Olympics soon, accommodation's going to be a big issue; especially as things here have dragged on and I'll be hitting a tourist area towards peak prices/limited availability.0 -
Well, I'm back in England (Well, currently in Merthyr, as I'm working in Cardiff tomorrow and it's a free bed)
Just a quick note re post Pastures; Anything that comes through my front door that looks remotely like marketing goes straight in the bin without being opened. I don't know how many other NP are the same.

Party sales I've been invited to recently all seem to be fake designer handbags and fake designer jewellery. Usually dragged to by friends who don't want to knock on a strangers door alone.
A lot of people arrive in groups of 3-5, make some statement about only wanting the real thing or their husbands not allowing them to buy fake, then they leave. Later in the day they arrive back, alone, buy the covetted copy. This is then introduced to friends later, claiming it is old and been at the back of their wardrobe for weeks.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. For the librarians - http://www.hamhigh.co.uk/news/hampstead_garden_suburb_library_handover_to_volunteers_held_up_by_paperwork_delay_1_1328997
What happened is that the local authority closed down our local branch library, but a group of local volunteers have now reopened it. I think that they pay no rent or rates, and they had the book collection donated by the local authority. There are some very determined people round here!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Bit of a sorry state of affairs when we count 18 degrees and not raining in the middle of June as 'scorchio'chewmylegoff wrote: »sccccccccccooooooooorrrrrrrrccccccchhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiooooooooooooooooo
