TV programme about taste and class is on Channel 4+1.
He's on a fairly new estate. Looking at the middle classes.
"They look like the houses of the working class, but there's no mess, no litter"
He's been invited to a cupcake party.0 -

Once you move to the other place near where an NP's child goes to Uni, the libraries will be on a whole different scale. They'll go from being as big as a large living room to as big as a fair sized office block. A thousand or so items will multiply to hundreds of thousands. With a bit of luck they'll also allow you to register as disabled so you can access the service free of charge. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Jamie Oliver cookware party.
Is it just me or .... I have always found any form of party planning sales very very "typical council" and tacky!!0 -
Wouldn't they want some "proof"? Or do I just wobble up, twitch a bit and say it?vivatifosi wrote: »Once you move to the other place near where an NP's child goes to Uni, the libraries will be on a whole different scale. Brilliant programme suggestion, cheers Pastures. It did amuse me when they were at the Jamie party was the irony of their saying that they were getting away from the working class who can get the same sort of stuff at George. How bl**dy posh do they think Jamie Oliver is? They're avin a giraffe. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It does depend from one authority to another. Here we don't ask for proof, you just check a box. Hopefully they will be the same. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It probably wouldn't be high on my list of things to do ... as I don't expect to have an address for awhile. I'll be using another address several hundred miles away for everything. . . and forms like an address and proof you live somewherevivatifosi wrote: »It does depend from one authority to another. So I expect to mainly be avoiding forms....0 -

They equate "on the telly" with "posh" I think.
They probably buy Heat magazine....
I must say that (bearing in mind they're on best behaviour/the telly), their accents are quite common in the main. I'd trump their accents if I were at their cupcake party .... except I'd be booted out for taking the pee

Don't rule out using a library though Pastures. For example, you can use free wifi in many without joining. Could be useful if you're between houses and have limited net access. You also tend to get free computer time if you are a member. All you need to do for most libraries is get a letter sent to your new address and bring the envelope in showing it, or have a formal doc with it on, such as a letting contract. If push comes to shove, e-mail me your address, I'll write to you and once delivered you can take it into your local library as proof of address. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
