Given you seem to advocate ripping people off I'd say this is essentially karma.......

No wonder you get people's backs up with unnecessary inflammatory stuff like this! (As well as your unpleasant sig)

    to reiterate
its over 5 grand so its not a small claims issue
it worked when it left private sellers house
its going to honda who are renowned for fairness in their dealerships
if i had nothing to hide i would have nothing to fear and let everything roll
i would not be bending over on a legitimate private sale
if i had sold it as a trader of course i would have to refund the car monies or pay for the fixing of the aircon in such a short time

we are still not sure if buyer is trying to screw the seller of course yet

Apologies for being honest. That's all I'm advocating, sorry you don't feel the same.

Pendulum generally has some decent comments to say but to advocate advertising a vehicle with features that do not work and saying it is no concern of his if the buyer only discovers it once they've made the sale is, in my book, giving the green light to ripping people off.

I have found myself agreeing with several people in this thread that I wouldn't normally, s b for one, mikey72 for another.

The main point is in this case the system did appear to be working, assuming everything else is above board then the OP has nothing to worry about

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

They also took it to kwik-fit who said the gases were fine in the system. The compressor clutch was kicking in, but it could be the condenser.

Sounds about right for Crap Fit, the compressor would not cut in if the condenser was damaged as there would be no gas in the system, it would have all leaked out.:)

Actually the tyres were almost brand new, it was serviced in september, when I had the brakes checked, and I've done about 2000 miles since, as for the flux capacitor, wish it did have one so I could have gone into the future to see what'd happen to it!

I think you missed my point a little. There was a valid point even though my post was a bit sarcastic.

Basically Kwik Fit are notorious for trying to sell you work that you don't need, so if they've gone there and been told that their new "great condition" car needs all this work doing, and they actually believe it. Maybe they're now looking for an excuse to make you take the car back and avoid paying for all this work.

    I agree.
Possibly 5t's language was a little harsh, but he was sticking up for the consumer (what this site is all about, after all).

The trouble with Fivetide is that he makes wild and inaccurate claims which when he is asked to substantiate he is unable to do so. A good example is his claim that I am stalking him. He also accuses other members of making things up, but as can be seen about his unfounded allegations of stalking and harassment, he is very adept at making things up himself.

Well at least my comment has driven you to change your unpleasant sig! (Though still unnecessary, unpleasant and inflammatory)

(And why not just disagree with someone's opinion without your namecalling instead of trying to start a fight all the time?)

I would expect a genuine complainant to get a diagnosis from a garage and send you the quote.

A generic solicitor 'give me my money back' letter wastes everybody's time.

Whether that is true in other cases I don't want to get involved in. I agree that Fivetide's signature is out of order. I think the forum team need to get involved and sort the matter out.

But in this instance, Fivetide's comments about pendulum came after the following post...
    pendulum wrote: »
I advertised my old Fiesta as having electric windows, sunroof, and aircon, but I barely used the aircon and had no idea if it worked properly or not. It is not my job to check either, it is the buyer's. Similarly, the sunroof didn't open or close smoothly - in other words, didn't work properly - but it's still a sunroof thus was advertised as having such.
I don't think that it is unreasonable, following this, to say that pendulum advocated ripping people off.
