I turned down overtime today too for the same reason, its all very well working and having money but I'd much rather have the occasional day to rest and keep my health - I've done almost 50 hours overtime already this month and today was my first day off since last Tuesday and most likely my last until next Tuesday too!

  • Thanks both, Scuba that was my reasonings its ok doing the OT but not if it starts making you unwell, that being said....

I have just agreed to 8hours OT, 4hrs tomorrow and 4hrs on Friday. But its a sit in and quite easy money, in effect not working. It means I will be doing a 10 day stint but I don't mind as I still get my ly in on Friday. Thats 44hours min I will have this week, well on target for my £195 needed.

I have however purchased some groceries £10 (change will go into my savings but I have left it in the car, spent £8.xx) and lent £50 out. Its to the people that helped me when I needed a little loan to fix the car until payday, I will get it back Monday and its only my saves for my bills. If it was anyone else I would have said no but I know I will get this back.

I am also watching some graphite sticks and ink on ebay (total cost £8) but its not an 'auction' but a busniess seller so no rush for those, but they are the cheapest anywhere online. No luck with my car but a lot of interest (many questions and 20 watchers) if it doesn't go this time i will contact a local scrapper I think. Fed up of seeing it on the drive now :rotfl:

    Off to art!
  • Didn't get much of a ly in :o I am also doing 11days not 10 as I had already agreed to work next Saurday months ago. Anyway been paid but not enough according to my budget up there  £165.89 in the account (aleady paid my rent and took out £10) and I am also getting £50 on Monday. The £10 is for an hair cut £5 and then £5 will be kept.

So thats a total of £215.89, my outgoings this week is £150 (insurance) and £40 petrol. Leaving £25.89... The reason why I have 'lost' the £60 I put back for the MOT, well I forgot last week I had to put asside £75 for my insurance too :o

Right now I have no idea if I will have enough for my bills on the 15th at the moment I am £55 down on my saves for the 15th. If I don't have enough I will have to give Mum less rent because I have no other access to income.

Car didn't sell again on ebay so I am now looking at scrappers and I will get it on auto trader soon to try and get rid of it that way.

Bit of a breather... Recieved £56.xx back from my car tax today :j Can't bank it until Monday however but still. I was intended for savings but I am going to wait until the 15th to see whats left/it any before I move it. I will prob move the £6.xx though :D

Also managed to bag an extra 4hours work next week too. Depends how the lady is but hopefully that will stand. That means I am over 40hrs work for next week.
  • Update! Well nothing much to update really, got petrol (£29.89 but a full tank) and spent £4.49 on salad, pork pies and yogurt. I have emptied my purse into my downstairs pig and will transfer that upstairs next week now.

    Weekly spends -
    £12.49 groceries
    £29.89 petrol

I am going to get the cheque put in tomorrow and I should get that £50 back too. So all going well, just have to make it through this week now and fingers crossed I get some more hours too.

Thanks Beanie, managed to get 8/9 more hours :j Also the 4hours has been changed to a differecnt night but that doesn't bother me. That means I should have 49hours pay next friday, £301 before tax :D

I have put the cheque in, but for some reason the teller say it won't be cleared until Tuesday :o Its natwest so anything is possible I guess... I have also recieved some tesco vouchers. Now I am not one to use them usually (25 extra points if you buy x) but most of the stuff in there I will buy and I am hoping to save enough to cover one christmas gift this year so I will be spending those, I need to spend approx £10. I have until the end of this month so will use them either this weekend or next week sometime.

Now off to shower until my next run...
  • Mmmm Pap may have been a little naughty... But good news first, another 2hours extra tonight :j 51hours, however I have had some cancelations this week so I may lose some of those hours. But at least I may take home approx £250.

I have also sorted the tax code myself... According to the tax office my work hasn't even asked for a new tax code  So Pap has sorted it and my new tax code is winging its way to work. If it is not updated within the next two pay checks (excluding this Friday) I need to ring the tax office back. I am certainly due a refund but the office couldn't tell me how much.

Now the naughty bit, I have spent a few pennys today.
£1.50 - magic trees for car
    £1.50 -
clock for car (I don't have one in my car)
    £0.60 -
    washing up liquid (work)
    £1.20 - kitchen rolls (home)
    £1.30 - masking tape (art)
£2.75 - chocolate for mum and me and 4 lucozades
£1.95 - sudoku book (for work)
    £1.95 - two cakes
    £5.xx - costa :o

    £20 total
    Change in my pig....

Everything in green is acceptable everything else is luxuary. Now I do feel guilty because thats nearly £17 I could have put in savings for my car/MOT but on the other hand I have been working so much over the past few weeks I have missed seeing my Mum - think ships passing in the night every other night and you see what sort of relationship we have had the past 3 weeks. So that £9 on cakes and coffee was well worth it.

Bank is looking well except for I now only have the cheque money spare this week. Never mind what is done is done. Also Paypal still haven't taken the first £10 and I will need to pay the other £10 (relist fee) the end of this month. The car is going in trade it tonight so fingers crossed it sales. If not I am going to put it in local shops etc to try and get rid.

Now off out to work again :D
  • Things have changed and I no longer have all the overtime. Might still reach the £200 I need though.
