I noticed a man loitering and he was the 'ticketer'. I questioned him about the signs and he said he has only been working there a couple of days and doesn't know when they were changed to the new ones. As I had read the old one closely on 13th October and 15th October (with other users of the car park) I know this is not the sign that was there when my ticket was issued. I asked what proof there was that people were eligible for a ticket and he said he watched people and judged when they should be ticketed.
I am not sure how to attach the picture of the new sign.
Any suggestions as to where I stand please.
I cannot attach the letter so I will have to re-type:-
Dated 15th November 2012
Dear........
We write with reference the above Parking Charge. Drivers parking their vehicles and then walking off the site at Stevenage Leisure Park are registered by our warden and a record of their registration numbers is made on our database.
There are sufficient signs within this area warning drivers that should they leave their vehicles unattended without permission and without using the facilities that this will result in a Parking charge being issued. Unfortunately, there was no record of you using the facilities on the relevant date and therefore the Parking charge would still apply. However, if you can please provide us with a copy of your receipt(s) showing that you shopped at Stevenage Leisure Park, or any other evidence showing you site at the time of the breach of the terms and conditions of parking we will re-investigate your appeal and will be able to make a final decision.
Alternatively, you Parking Charge has been onhold whilst on appeal and may now be settled at the reduced rate of £54 provided payment is received by us at the above address within 35 days of the date of this letter.
Advice please.0 -

Your question has already been answered over on PePiPPo by Manx Red:-
Ignore them, they are talking tripe.
1. They have a duty to mitigate their losses, and yet their 'warden' logged you leaving site, instead of warning you that you would incur a charge if you did (despite the fact that their charge is not representative of their true losses anyway).
2. If they had such a cast iron legal case against you, why are they offering a reduced settlement amount? Surely they ought to take you to court for the full amount. Or maybe they think (actually, make that 'know') they would lose badly. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
They never ever do court so just ignore them and their phoney appeals process, there is no point communicating further with them, though if this is their final answer and this took place on or after 01/10/12 they should supply a popla code to take it to an independent appeals process if they haven't offered that then their whole scam ticket is invalid in any case according to the bpa. If you want to cost them money come back to usExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Hi evryyone, sorry it's been a while since i updated my parking charge saga. I am now the proud recipient of 8 letters, each one threatening all sorts from the original charge to increased charges through to all the threats that i may be taken to court etc etc. Apart from the first two from the parking co themselves i have four from some outfit calling themselves dept recovery plus ltd and then another two from some other outfit calling themselves zenith collections. In the last letter sent to me zenith are prepared to accept £80. (Gosh...such lovely people...thats almost half-price) lol. Needless to say, zenith collections won't be making any collections from me, so i will continue to keep calm and carry on. bye for now.0

At least you now know that the only thing they have in their arsenal is to write you more meaningless letters.
They would have taken you to court by now if they had any sort of case against you.
Well done for not backing down. :TThe word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]

Many thanks for coming back here to update the thread, it helps newbies to see that nothing happened. Just as we said, it's all about junk mail.
Did you tick each letter off against the 'PPC letter chains' sticky thread and did you see the comments there, shown under one PPC who use Zenith, which points out that Claire (allegedly from DRP) and James (allegedly from Zenith, allegedly a completely different firm of course!) share the same signature?!
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2329119
And I think there's an alleged employee from PCS who also has the exact same signature. Who would have thought?!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A couple of years ago my husband's car was booked for being slightly over a white line after 8pm. I need space to get out as I am disabled. All disabled spaces were taken. The fine went into the hundreds still worried I took advice from Citizens advice was to IGNORE everything that comes in. I did and the letters eventually stopped. It was a dreadful time. I have been booked again in a disabled car with tax disc & badge. I was in M&S simply food last Saturday for about 20mins. I had reversed into the disabled space for safety reasons. When you reverse out of a space people wont give way you have to watch cars from left & right & behind for cars coming from different roads from carpark. It was extremely dark on Sat and I moved out to right amongst heavy traffic and was shocked to see a parking ticket stuck right in the middle of my view. Very dangerous. I reported this to police in Coatbridge. It took a couple of miles before I could safely remove it.
The parking tickets writing is so small you need a magnifying glass to read it. I will ignore this one again! I saw a car being booked prior to Christmas couldnt believe my eyes. A car had turned into the first space and it was heaped with snow! They moved over to second space but were very slightly over the white line between the two spaces. The woman from UKPC was booking this small old car! I said surely your not booking this car! she said they should have moved over a bit! I would think these people were struggling already. I tried to watch for the driver but didnt manage to tell them. I certainly hope they didnt pay up! No one could use the snow heaped space! Just sheer greed on behalf of UKPC. Its time we all boycotted Legal & General the car park owners. They dont want to know! Pass the info to every one who gets fines from UKPC or any free carpark! Contact Citizens advice and stop this greedy practice. Contrary to belief NONE of the shops get a cut of the fines! They all want it to be stopped to no avail! Something needs to be done! IGNORE UKPC & all LETTERS received from them or letters connected to fine. It costs them to chase you! BRING IT ON! :T0 -
Thanks for the post, sadly citizen advice is not very good in this area, their advice normally says appeal or pay it, unbelievably they get their advice from the bpa, you know the people who look after the interests of parking companies .
And the directors of that actually own parking companies, so how can it be independent advice when it's worded from the parking industry, I mean no conflict of interest there.
As you said ignore is the correct advice providing the vehicle is yoursWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
