The great Walkers swindle

Currently there must be a good percentage of the population who think they are getting 6 x 34.5 in multipacks, this means they think it's a better bargain than it is.
I doubt there are though, not after the initial purchase. It's obvious the first time you buy a mutli pack that the sizes aren't the same. Firstly the bag sizes are noticeably smaller, secondly it's obvious there are less crisps. People are only getting 'caught out' once, that does not represent a good percentage of the population
You only have to look at this thread, and others OP has posted elsewhere to get an idea of the percentage of people who know that multi-packs are smaller, it's by far the majority.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I'm happy with that, even if it's being done on health grounds, all I wanted was a standard pack size.
Reading that there still won't be. Single packs may be reduced to 30g or less but there's no mention of multi-pack being increased to 30g. It's refering to packets for sale separatley.
All that means is Walkers will most likely be selling 30g for the same price 34g are currently being sold for and multi-packs will remain at 25g. How can you be happy with that?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Hardly a good sample, a handful of MSE'ers.
They shouldn't be smaller then there's no chance that people would be caught out.
Perhaps they should do away with weight altogether and sell snacks by the calorie content.0 -

To be honest I wouldn't be happy with that at all.0 -

Stats are stats. The same proportion were aware of the pack size on other fora OP has posted on. Just the odd two or three who were unaware with a dozen or so aware.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Stats are not stats I'm afraid, the small figures you quote would not mean a thing.0 -
If by that you mean you will continue to post anonymous quotes (stuff you've made up yourself) - I'll be ignoring you for here on
I've been posting on forums since internet was invented and 1st time I've come across unsubstantiated quotes
No wish to see them again
If by made up myself you mean been doing it since before all the consumer rights/awareness movement started, yes. I have never yet seen any consumer site/show that - when talking about supermarket pricing - has not advised you to work out the cost per 100g/100mill in order to truly see if you are getting a good deal or not.
You've been posting in forums since 1960's? Really?
Nowhere did I say it was a quote. Does this then make you guilty of posting unsubstantiated quotes? Oh dear, best add yourself to your ignore list. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Obviously some supermarkets are more honest than others, but I'd still say they all work with manufacturers trying to come up with ways of diddling us all.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0

I'm liking that idea, it works for Gary.tomwakefield wrote: »Ah, so now it's not just a swindle is a major conspiracy. This just gets better and better.0
