As it has clearly been established that there is no consumer rights issue here, perhaps it is time that this thread was moved to The Money Makers Arms.

Well it seems your the only one being 'tricked' where as the rest of us are happy to look at the product description when buying goods therefore don't feel conned as we can make an informed decision.

Let's hope you dont look at the product description online with Tesco's then. Remember most people are not that careful.

You are going to have to explain the financial loss bit again.

Because this is how it is from Tescos, single pack clearly marked 34.5g 0.49p

    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=255744909

Multipack, (oopps they forgot to show the weight) £1.58 for six (0.263 ea)

    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=259738773

Now when you compare the single pack with the multipack it's a bargain, but not so much if the multipack had 6 x 34.5g

Now you could argue that it's deliberate of Tesco's not showing the weight on the multipack, but that's not for me to say.

What do you mean not showing the weight? You mean where it says 6 x 25g on the bottom right of the image of the multipack? Plus values per 100g vs "each portion contains" shows a portion is indeed 25g.

However, your point is moot seeing as the subject is Walkers trying to deceive people........not supermarkets. Perhaps you have a point about tesco trying to deceive given that they do price/each rather than price/weight, but walkers are not in control of this and indeed, on asda.....prices are given per 100g and not per bag.

Still doesn't change the fact that walkers aren't trying to swindle people.....you are getting more for your money. @ 49p per individual pack it is £1.44/100g. 6 multipack bags work out at 95p/100g and that is excluding the special offer. Go to the 22 multipack bags and that price becomes 79p/100g

The purpose of multipacks/buying bulk is to get more for your money and in this instance.....you certainly are getting more for your money............so......where's the scam?

And where have you plucked that little nugget from?

It would seem from this thread, and OP's previous threads on other fora that most people are indeed that careful, the vast majority of people are well aware of the difference in weight, and are also well aware of the lower price per 100g charged for the multi-packs. They are also aware that a 'pack' is not a description of the size of a product, merely the packaging it's contained in.

Which leads perfectly back to my original point. Ignorance is not an excuse. I fail to see how the manufacturer or retailer can be responsible if they make the information openly available and you fail to read it.

I'm also guessing ops the type of person to kick up a fuss when a shop refuses a return outside of their policy time limit, on the grounds I wasn't told about the return policy when I ordered the goods. Even though their policy was available to anybody interested in knowing it.

It seems your argument has been exhausted so now it's time for personal attacks

well we need to part company so you are now on ignore and I suggest you do the same
Unfortunately, it proves my point that you can't listen to different views to your own and throw a tantrum instead.

The funny thing is, if he continues at this rate, everyone who disagrees will be on ignore :p

Thought the troll thing would come out, why does it make me a troll because you don't understand the maths.

I have no interest in going to the Walkers facebook page, I don't care that much. I've learnt that most of the public allow themselves to get conned and I doubt I will be able to change years of brain washing.
That's a very odd thing to say..that I don't understand the maths? What makes you come to that conclusion? Or is it because I is a girl and therefore incapable of simple arithmetic :rotfl:

All this from someone who calls Tesco "Tescos". Shame you won't contact Walkers, as it appears you DO care that much.

I'd put you on ignore but I can handle criticism :)

You have to magnify the image to see that, with the single pack they show it clearly in the header.

Supermarkets work very closely with manufacturers, they probably both take part in finding ways to make deals look better.

Again I will say I agree multipacks are more value, but they would be better value if they had 34.5g bags in them.

If they had 34g bags, they'd be more expensive 8-)

As for working closely with supermarkets.....then why is it asda show the price per 100g and not per bag like tesco do?

Or do walkers only work closely with tesco? Pretty sure if that were true, asda would have something to say about it. Those 2 have been at each other for years over silly things.

    I didn't know you was a girl and I don't care, but you can't seem to grasp the maths that 6 x 34.5 is better 6 x 25

OMG did I put a 's' on the end of Tesco, what a doughnut I am. My English is rubbish but I'm good at maths :rotfl:
