Must say congratulations one and all for keeping this clearly nonsense thread going still, I imagined it would be long dead by now.

Just to cat the pigeons somewhat, my Golden Wonder crisps used to be packed in 1oz/28g packs. Were they an under-filled swindle too?
  • I've never bought a multpack of Walkers crisps but if I had, I'm pretty sure that I would be able to notice a difference of almost 30% between the mutipack bags and the standard sized ones.
5% or 10% may be easy to miss by almost 1/3 less would be a significant difference.

If I had bought the pack expecting the bags to be of the same weight as the regular ones then I would certainly feel aggrieved and probably wouldn't buy them again, a response that many people may have.

So unless the majority of packs are purchased by 1st time buyers, (which is extremely unlikely as there is only a limited pool of potential first time buyers), there is a very good possibility that most purchasers are fully aware of exactly what they will be getting for their money.

As the Walkers Facebook page doesn't seem to have any of these comments over there yet, I'm thinking these guys are trolls (I'm happy to linky over there if they won't).

Surprised this is still rumbling on, as it's going round in circles. Be a bit more proactive and go straight to the source, I say..

I posted on the Walkers FB page https://www.facebook.com/walkers :

"I'd like to draw your attention to this thread concerning multipacks and a perceived "swindle" in the amount within, versus individual crisp bags.
All a storm in a crisp packet to me, but an opportunity to answer back on a public forum (or on here). The (few) supporters of this don't seem to be responding to common sense.
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3874263"

I'm sure they'll be happy to reply.

PS: I also sent it via their website, in case it gets lost in the FB comments melee.

When he says he doesn't "have time for semantics" in response to most moot points, it really means "I'm pig-headed, I'm right and won't listen to another point of view." People with this mindset should just shout into a black hole, because they're not willing to listen to reasonable points that don't fit in with theirs.

He's spent a lot of time and energy repeating himself again and again, so it suggests he does indeed have plenty at his disposal. When it suits him.

No point being on a forum for these types, either.

It's curious that neither Zandoni nor JethroUK respond to my reasonable suggestion for them to go directly to Walkers/xxx Crisps company and get the answers they so desperately seek. Therefore, the likelihood that they are trolls stands ;)

"I'm so ANGRY about (something) but won't do anything about it"! is a pretty weird way to go through life.

A simple question for any zealots who want to answer it:

Why would a company set out to purposely deceive the public for financial loss?

You are going to have to explain the financial loss bit again.

Because this is how it is from Tescos, single pack clearly marked 34.5g 0.49p

    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=255744909

Multipack, (oopps they forgot to show the weight) £1.58 for six (0.263 ea)

    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=259738773

Now when you compare the single pack with the multipack it's a bargain, but not so much if the multipack had 6 x 34.5g

Now you could argue that it's deliberate of Tesco's not showing the weight on the multipack, but that's not for me to say.

Thought the troll thing would come out, why does it make me a troll because you don't understand the maths.

I have no interest in going to the Walkers facebook page, I don't care that much. I've learnt that most of the public allow themselves to get conned and I doubt I will be able to change years of brain washing.

Maybe rather than them short changing you on the multipacks, why not look at it as them giving you more crisps when you buy individual bags?
Most supermarkets don't display single crisp packets in the same row as multipacks so it's not easy to compare.

I think it's such a shame that the average shopper is happy to live with all these tricks, it makes it so easy for supermarkets and manufacturers to hoodwink their customers.
Well it seems your the only one being 'tricked' where as the rest of us are happy to look at the product description when buying goods therefore don't feel conned as we can make an informed decision.
