As for working closely with supermarkets.....then why is it asda show the price per 100g and not per bag like tesco do?
Or do walkers only work closely with tesco? Pretty sure if that were true, asda would have something to say about it. Those 2 have been at each other for years over silly things.
All manufacturers work closely with all the supermarkets as you well know.0 -
All manufacturers work closely with all the supermarkets as you well know.
You didnt answer my question. If the deception of price per bag (without making clear what size a bag is) is down to the manufacturer.........why does asda list theirs as price per 100g?
One is potentially misleading to someone who doesn't know multipack bags are smaller, the other isn't misleading to anyone. So why the discrepancy if the manufacturers are responsible for that misleading behaviour? You keep using that word. I didn't know you was a girl and I don't care, but you can't seem to grasp the maths that 6 x 34.5 is better 6 x 25
OMG did I put a 's' on the end of Tesco, what a doughnut I am. My English is rubbish but I'm good at maths :rotfl:
How much do you spend on those 6 x 34.5g crisps compared to the 6 x 25g multipack crisps? For someone so keen on maths you've missed the most important part.
All the people I've talked to (crisps lovers) KNOW that multipacks have less in them than regular sized crisp bags. So your point is..what?
Can't believe I'm wasting my time on such nonsense..0 -

Give me a link and I'll look
Although it's obvious that Walkers package the goods and the supermarkets advertise them as they want. Perhaps Asda don't exploit the size difference as much as other supermarkets.0 -
I AM a girl, present tense, not past tense. How many LouLous are male? I even have an avatar of Wonder Woman, if that gives a clue.

Your avatar is not shown.
I have a friend called Lewis, he is also known as LouLou (might stop calling him that now though).
You have missed the important part I'm afraid.
If you feel you are wasting your time stop contributing, although I do appreciate the English lessons.0 -

You sir, are a buffoon. And I'll direct you to my edited post: That people mostly KNOW that multipacks have less in them.
Keep ignoring people and repeating yourself ad nauseam, there seems to be some weird fascination with crisps, packets and weights that's bordering on disturbing now..0 -
Wow, a stranger on the internet has upset you so much (about crisps!!!) that he can't bear to share the same monicker with a friend.

A buffoon, brilliant haven't heard that word used in years (name calling is a bit chidish though).
What sort of evidence do you have that most people know?
I am not ignoring people, I just don't agree with what some people have said.
I don't even eat many crisps I'm being a bit careful with my weight.0 -

All in price per 100g.
Ahhhh so you admit, it is the supermarkets exploiting customers and not walkers?
Supermarkets could choose to be clear about prices (such as asda with price per 100g).........but they don't. Walkers would only be responsible for it if they tell a supermarket what to price it at, how to price it (for example per "bag") and won't sell to any company who want to have transparent pricing.
Oh and just to add, asda also say on the product page that packs are 25g:

Typical values Per 25g pack
Walkers Cheese & Onion

Ahhh You admit that exploitation is going on then.
Obviously some supermarkets are more honest than others, but I'd still say they all work with manufacturers trying to come up with ways of diddling us all.
Someone told me once that when he managed a small supermarket he went round the store dropping items into peoples trollies to increase the sales. He tried to do it to couples as each would think the other one wanted to buy the extra item.0 -

Supermarkets do use cheap tactics yes. But if you're smart enough, you can spot them and avoid them. For example, having milk and bread at the back of the shop so if you "pop in" for a loaf/pint.....you have to walk past all their special offers....same reason they put specials at the end of the aisles - because that is where the most foot traffic is except the entrance/exit (where they also place specials/advertisements).
My point is that multipack bags are not a "scam" simply because the weight is less. As i've said a few times, a bag is not a unit of measurement it is merely the type of container/packaging. If they were the same price per 100g BUT the multipack had wording on it to try and tell you it was better value than single packs.....THEN it would be along the lines of a "scam" (or misleading if you prefer a less dramatic approach than the OP).You keep using that word.
