  • Yes, FP wasn't that fast. In fact 1 of mine took 2 days!!! Happy with the rate, but not the FP service.

I sent some money (from Lloyds current account) on Friday evening by FP, and it still isn't there two days later. Very unimpressed.

The FP commitment is that money arrives by the end of the next working day - - this is Monday in your case.

Ah ok, it has indeed gone in today. Lloyds need to re program their website not to say it will take 2 hours at weekends ;)

Lloyds may well be able to send the money within 2 hours at the weekend - - but as they say, it takes two to tango, so the "delay" may well be down to the Post Office/Bank of Ireland (UK).

They jointly completed it within the committed timeframe, though.

Indeed, I've made payments at the weekend from Lloyds and Halifax before, and they've arrived usually within a few minutes.

Payment to Post office however have always taken until the next working day when done at night or weekends.

Don't know if this question's been answered already, but when the money doesn't show in the PO account the next working day, where's it been in the meantime and has a day's interest been lost in both the sending account and the PO account?
Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you’ll get rid of him every weekend.

Cheers guys, had an AA online saver at 2.8% and they only offered me 2.4% which I thought an insult. This will allow me to withdraw money as and when I want to make share purchases. Nice find. All gone smoothly for me up to now with account creation. will see how it copes with transfers in and out before investing a large amount.

it seems to be ok - I opened with £1 card payment and as soon as I had the online login details and account codes I transferred £7k from my barclays "savings" account (with about 0.1% or something - its only my "secret cash stash" (as the wife calls it) so i've never bothered trying to get a better rate on it before, but its now such a massive gap it had to move, anyway..) that £7k was passed by faster payment and was was visible later that same day, can't ask for better than that really.

I put more money into my using a debit card it said it will take 2 working days to show so lost interest on that aswell as the direct debit which took 5 days to show up.

So why not use Faster payments? They send you a letter with all the information you need, including sort code and account number. In some cases, the transfer shows up the same day, but definitely by the end of the next working day..
