At what point in the application process did you get your sort code?Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you’ll get rid of him every weekend.0

That's a bummer. As I mentioned, my online application didn't complete "nromally", it said they needed to contact me or make further checks or something (can't remember exactly). And then I received an email a few days later saying that the account was open. Did they say specifically that you could transfer in using FP?Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. No they didn't.
However other accounts that I have also use the linked account and direct debit method. Transferring from my current account by FP works better than using the linked account direct debit. No reason for this not to be the same as others have proved by using it.0 -
Most savings accounts now are going down the "DD from your account" route as it ensures everything is correct. A manual payment leaves too much to get wrong and then when someone transfer £1000 to the wrong account number, the company behind the savings account get the complaints!
But there's no reason why you can't do it. After all, this savings account has a proper sort code and account number, rather than a roll number.0 -

It's working perfectly. Try a £1 (or even less) FP first, to confirm you have set up your payment data correctly.
I paid £25K into mine with FP yesterday - took longer than 2 hours to arrive but that's probably because it was weekend, or may be my sending bank was doing extra checks. Still, it was all done within less than half a day, and well before the committted "by end of next working day"
A Direct Debit or a Debit card payment will take considerably longer, based on the test deposits I made before I decided FP was really the only game in town.0 -
I've tried a couple of FPs now. The first was just £1 and the second was larger. I did both after 5pm and neither showed up until the following day. Is this your experience?Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you’ll get rid of him every weekend.0
