  • Yes, FP wasn't that fast. In fact 1 of mine took 2 days!!! Happy with the rate, but not the FP service.

It seems like if you do it at night, it's done by the next day, so pretty much the same as most savings accounts of this fashion.

I've had my initial 10K DD shown in account on 7 June, and a further large amount in account on 11 Jun. I have tried a test £1 back to my bank today, yesterday and the day before and each time get the message "transaction cannot be completed at this time". Do they really need this amount of time to credit the account before withdrawals?

Transfer finally worked today. Seems a long clearance time - wonder what dates the interest accrues?

I put £1 in on Monday night and it was there on Tuesday. Transferred another 8K on Tuesday which was there on Wednesday, transferred £1 back to my bank last night and its in my account today.

All done via FP though, not DD or DC.

I've tried to transfer another sum today, but its been stopped by Halifax for "investigation"

I've just got a letter from the Post office saying my account is now open, has a current balance of £1.01, and states the full sort code and account number.

Also confirms your interest method (monthly, annually) & interest rate.

So anyone who still doesn't know what there details are, they are in the post :)

I opened a new Issue 5 account over a week ago. Sent off my signature form as requested. Received the email and letters telling me my account is open along with my user id and security number.
When I logged in today, my account balance is £0.00 even though my initial deposit was £1.00. How long does it take for the initial deposit to show up?

Also, I already have a Issue 4 PO savings account. To access that I have to log in using a different user ID and security number. There was nothing during the application process that asked if I was an existing account holder. Have others found this to be the case?

You might be violating the T&Cs of the account:

Can I have more than one Post Office® Online Saver?

You can only hold one sole Online Saver account and one joint Online Saver account. However, you can open as many Online Bonds as you wish.

If you paid the original £1 by DD, this can take upto 14 days to reach your account.

I opened mine over the bank holiday weekend, have received my paperwork through the post. Still not received my initial deposit (they said it takes 10 days) but have successfully transferred a couple of grand (arrived the same day) via bank transfer. I'd forget about the linked account or debit card and just set up a payment from your current account using your PO account number and sort code.

They told me you had to close the prior issues as you could n't have both. (They didnt tell me you could have both on different IDs but that would make system sense).
Did you download an application - or fill it in online? It isnt an option offered to existing account holders online, so to maintain your ID you have to download a form for it.
If you did it online it only lets you do it as a new customer. Barmy? I think so too.
