I am becoming annoyed at Tesco when I reuse my carrier bags and bags for life. They say its 1 point per either type of bag. However, when I go shopping I am rarely given the correct points.
I did complain to Tesco and was assured
which is contrary to what a lot of people believe.
Who else has had problems with green clubcard points?
- no points at all - trip to customer services
- just one point - trip to customer services
- too many points - ta very much
- the correct points - rare but it can happen

I can confirm that we only offer 1 point for a bag for life

There is a staff desk in the middle of my local tesco store which clearly shows that a full bag for life equals 2 points. In fact, it states that any large bag that is full is equal to two points.
That is the key though, you have to fill it up. You cannot get two points for a half full bag for life. I have argued this issue when something in it is heavy and they will give the extra point but otherwise, you have to fill the bag to get the two points.0 -
I will paste the full copy of my e-mail reply from Tesco:Thank you for your email.
I am sorry that you feel you have not received the correct amount of green Clubcard points in our Connswater and Knocknagoney Road stores.
We've trained all our checkout staff so that they know the procedure, but sometimes they can make a mistake and forget. It seems that this is what has been happening when you have been shopping with us and I apologise for this.
I can confirm that we only offer 1 point for a bag for life.
I?ve called the stores Managers and spoken with them with regards to this matter and they are going to remind our cashiers about Green Clubcard Points. We will ensure that we do our best to stop this from happening again.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know.0 -
hi yes you have to keep an eagle eye out , but take your old Tesco carrier in and for each bag they are giving 2 points till april, and you dont have to fill them up , The bag for life is just stronger and more of an enviromental issue than for the points system .
I usaully just hand over my card and declare how many bags i have, but you do need to check your reciept to ensure they have logged them for you...Don't sweat the small stuff, Its all small stuff.0 -

Tesco won't complain if you are casual about checking your receipt for ANY defects (there's usually something).
Double points for bag re-use(or cartons, or any container)last until 8 April. Make the most of this.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I know what you mean staff at my local NEVER give green points for bags - its annoying cos I always forget about them too until I get home and check my receipt.
I also wonder how im going to remember how many green items Ive purchased to check my clubcard statement as these "double" points get added on later - they dont show on your receipt only your statement. Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
The tesco c/o assistants either dont know or dont care about the new deal running at the moment which is 2points for EVERY bag used between now and April. Before i went through checkout i showed the assistant that i had 3 bags and said that would be 6points she said it was only 3 at which time i produced the tesco leaflet showing the information and her reply was oh theyll get added onto your clubcard statement. This is coming from someone who 2mins before tried to argue that it was only 1 point per bag.Tesco either need to scrap the whole thing or have a system at the checkout that automatically adds these points,as i dont think they can rely on their staff to add the points on regardless of whether they are trained to do so or not.0

I have just come back from a different branch of Tesco to my usual one. I re-used 3 standard carrier bags and one large one. I said I had used four bags and the cashier looked at them and said "that's five points" without any comment or prompting from me.0
