Swagbucks is great, I started in Apr/May time, didn't bother with it at all for a couple of the months over the summer, and have still claimed £55 worth of Amazon vouchers this year. Can manage a voucher a week when I remember to try and get a survey done daily.

For some reason I don't feel as relieved as I thought I would about letting the house? Maybe once they have actually moved in and it's 100% a done deal it will feel more real?

Managed to replace our broken landline phone for free in Tesco yesterday. £10 worth of clubcard vouchers doubled up to £20 and the phone I picked had a fiver off too. Now to keep the toddler away from this one....

Best get on with my housework, tonnes to do; how can two small children create so much mess and washing, constantly?! Cooking a huge lasagne from scratch this evening to have (and freeze plenty leftover too). Will bulk it out with lots of veg and pulses, tastier and more interesting that way anyway I always think :)
  • £80 overpayment five days into the month Ladybird, very impressive!

Hope youll soon feel easier about the tenants- I'm sure it'll help you feel better when the rent starts coming in!

I need to look into Sawgbucks.

    Hi LB

£55 in swagbucks is a great amount, amazing how quickly they start to add up isn't it,

Hope you feel easier about the rental soon as GL says maybe once the rent starts coming in :)

  • Thanks for the kind words everyone :)

I have been paid for a little bit of work today, but most of it has had to go back into my little business- been leaving myself a bit short and overpaying every penny so time to invest a bit back in. Still, managed £60 off the expensive CC so up to £140 on my target. Have left £20 in my current account for minor emergencies, will chuck that on the CC on Tuesday if I still have it when my child benefit payment comes in.
  • Just when you think you are running out of things to flog....found a big box of horse stuff today- all kinds of bits, bridle parts, stirrups etc; basically all my old spares. Worth a fair bit (and it will be a long time before I can afford my own horse again) so ebay it is! Hopefully a bit more to chuck at the CC!
  • Excellent- always great when you find something extra to sell- hope it does well.
Just noticed your overpayment up to £140!!! Well done.

  • The more I sell the more I spot other things I hadn't thought of selling before! :D

I am hoping to exceed my target this month and should do if I hit my work deadlines and get paid for them promptly. Sadly, because of our house situation we will be slipping further into debt unless I overpay about £600, so won't be seeing the benefits really! Still, if I wasn't bothering we'd be falling even more back into the debt paid off so can't complain too much :)
  • Been tinkering about with spreadsheets and snowballs again

Currently, our minimum debt payments are £928 each month (of which, about £330 goes in interest). I have worked out that once we start getting rent on our house paid, and the gas and electric there (and a few other aforementioned savings that are coming up), we will have enough money after all bills to allow us £100pw for groceries and other spends, and an extra £376 on our debts. Added to my £400 I'm hoping to earn each month that gives us £1704 to pay off our debts each month. If we could pay £1700pm that would bring our DFD to June 2014- only a year and a half away!

Now, that is on the optimistic side, there is no telling whether our other house will remain rented, or whether interest rates on the mortgage could rise, or goodness knows whatever else, but it wouldn't be beyond us and I think we should definitely be aiming high and going for Summer 2014 as our start to a debt free life :)

Wondering if weekly cash might be a good plan. £60 weekly shop, then £20 each for my husband and I to spend if we must- food top ups, cheap family trips out, odd and ends etc, and any left at the end of the week can go on CCs. Need to sit down with him and figure it all out.
