    Hi LB,

Difficult to keep focus and motivation when lots of little expense keep popping up, but at least you have the time of to look foward to, sounds like you have some good things planned:D

Shame your money won't be with you in time for Nov, but great idea to add it to Dec's target hope everything you are expecting in Dec comes in for you.

Feel as though time is flying at warp speed at the moment! Working so hard trying to get all my work done before Christmas, could do with a few more hours in the day!

Our tenants moved in today- hurrah! Great news for us financially. Looking forward to a nice big utilities refund now they are taking over the gas and electric, and it looks like we should get a £40 council tax refund too.

Managed a little £38 CC overpayment today to kick off my target for December.

Been very sad here as we lost one of our dogs on Monday. He was old and had been unwell but still broke my heart to say goodbye, our dogs are like family and we had had him since he was a tiny puppy. As my husband so heartlessly pointed out though going from 3 dogs to 2 will save rather a lot of money, but I'm still too upset to see that bright side yet!!

Not much else to report, still really looking forward to a fresh and enthusiastic start to 2013 debt busting in January as my focus just isn't what it should be in the lead up to Christmas!
  • Oh dear, we have been utterly rubbish DFWs over the last few weeks, Christmas really needs to hurry up and be done with!

Why is it that you have to spend a bit extra on presents, a tree, bits and bobs, and all your good intentions go out of the window? Today I bought a £10 DVD and a £7 hat/scarf set for youngest, AND a pack of smoked salmon on offer for £5- stuff I would NEVER have spent money on a month ago! :(

Roll on January and a very determined fresh start!

We all have hiccups...none more than me:(:o

Try and keep it under control but at least its useful stuff (hat and gloves) and you can eat it (salmon..which in my house is often used for yummy pasta and also for sarnies)..might be why I can never do the grocery challenge ;)

Take care and have a great week

  • The salmon stretched a long way so you were right there brizzled! I adore smoked salmon and so do my children :D

Almost at my December overpayment target, having been paid for the November work I did... although in reality it hasn't been an overpayment as Christmas bits have gone on CCs. Still, my contribution to the debt clearance. Expecting another £600 pay before Christmas so we might clear the extra spending and 'break even' at least :)

Most Christmas shopping done now, few presents left to get and that's it. Only 16 days left until 2013... :j

  • Isn't it just Fae! Only another 11 days until 2013 and a fresh determined start though!:j

Feeling cheery this afternoon! Although November and December have been rather stagnant months we have done pretty well really, considering we have been paying for two houses- we could have slipped back much further.

Things are looking so much brighter for 2013 now our old house is rented out, and my husband is expecting a payrise worth another few £100 in the spring too. The more we chip away the more breathing space we give ourselves and the more we can throw at the debt.

Just want to say Merry Christmas and thanks to everyone who has offered support on here this year, here's to a great debt busting 2013

Off to make cheap Christmas biscuits with the children now :D
  • CC overpayment up to £558 now :)

Feeling so excited about getting back to organised and focused austerity in January :j
