  • Last October CC overpayment now made, I ended up just £10 short of my target at £390 in the end so quite happy with that.

As expected, not a pumpkin to be had! Managed to find some quite passable and rather pretty pumpkin looking squashes though so will have a go at hacking those later.

Potential tenant has put in an application but there seem to be a few concerns with references so not celebrating just yet.

On the plus side it is 1st November so I have updated my spreadsheet and signature with new monthly totals! Always update our direct debit payments on the first on the month even though they come out on different dates, too confusing otherwise :j

7 months into our debt free journey now and our debt stands at £28588.

So, 22.5% paid off so far. Still aiming to reach our next milestone of £25k in the spring. I'm looking forward to reaching £25k, for some reason I have always had that in my head as being a bit less of an embarrassing figure. Not sure if that perception is because it is the max loan amount banks will consider, or some other reason but there you go.

Obviously even £25k is still an enormous amount of debt and we'll still have an awfully long way to go, but I'll feel less ashamed once we reach it. Who knows how my strange little mind works!

We had an ok Halloween, didn't get dressed up but the children enjoyed opening the doors to trick or treaters and seeing the costumes. Will be more organised next year and get them dressed up, felt a bit bad when my eldest's new friends were at the door looking fantastic while he was still sat in his school uniform! :o

Hope November proves to be a great debt busting month for you all!
  • You'll make your target by spring I'm sure. You always sound so determined and I find reading your diary an inspiration.

22.5% is a massive reduction in debt- I understand exactly how you feel- I cant wait to get under £30k- thats still a huge amount- almost feels like monopoly money- I cant even imagine what £30k looks like- how the hell did I run up that debt?

I love following your diary as we owe similar amounts- we will get there!!!

I love your diary too GL, it's nice that we are at similar stages of a similar journey, always enjoy seeing what you have been up to :)

We will get there, for sure :T

    Hi Ladybird.

You are doing really well with your overpayments and I will keep my fingers crossed this tenant works out.

Our girls got dressed up for Halloween but it was pouring with rain here so we just drove around to our families houses around the village.

Awful weather here too on Halloween evening OrangeFairy!

Just seen a book recommended on another thread, 'The Takeaway Secret'. Only £1.49 on the Kindle so think I am going to invest in a copy and try and do my own takeaway tonight, could be fun! Lots of people raving about how good the recipes are, hopefully I can cook up something nice :D

I'll be spending the day today doing my freelance work, trying to make my way though the Christmas backlog, hopefully some money to come from it in the coming weeks. So much to do and so little time, beginning to wish I had not committed to quite so much of it but of course we need the money!

Best pour another coffee and crack on, children to dress and husband to get out of bed... he is taking them off for the day to let me work in peace :)

Let me know how your takeaway cooking goes- sounds interesting!

Bless DH for taking the kids out while you work. My hubby, great as he is, would never think to take the kids out if I needed to get on with something!

My day will be mostly making Halloween cupcakes as MIL has requested about 25 for her party tonight!
