Good luck on catching up with your work, the takeaway cooking sounds like a great idea, what are you going to make ?

Been working so hard today I have decided I'm too shattered to attempt a new recipe so going with lazier option for tea instead tonight! Will make something next weekend instead.

Exhausted! Productive day though, feeling a bit less stressed about work having got a good chunk under my belt :)

Hope the cupcakes went well OrangeFairy and that everyone is having a nice weekend.

Off to a (free!) fireworks party tomorrow so that will be nice, fingers crossed for dry weather. Must remember to get some sparklers... what's the bet they are all sold out like the pumpkins?

We have the Takeaway Secret, it's a regular Saturday night thing in our house. Kids to bed, couple of beers and then hubby does us a curry while I watch X Factor, win win!

Oooh you'll have to let me know which are the best recipes MrsPee! We were so spoilt for choice when we looked through it we didn't know where to start!

We have had THE most wonderful day today, I am feeling happy happy happy and have two very tired out children now fast asleep in bed. Spent the day with extended family, good (simple, cheap, comfort) food, a few sparklers and a couple of fireworks. Hardly spent anything but so much fun was had, really precious memories made- what it's all about!

    Hi LB,

Great to hear that you had such a great time with the fireworks party, so great to hear of people having fun without lots of money spent. :D

  • Yesterday sounds fantastic Ladybird- so pleased you had a good time with your family- thats whats it all about isnt it?

Tonight DH has taken DS firework and bonfire hunting- again- cheap and cheerful- they'll have chips in the car whilst watching the local show from the car. I am in comforting the doggies- they hate fireworks and are both snuggled here with me.

Hope you have a good week.

Luckily our dogs aren't bothered about fireworks! Hope your boys have a great time GL, cosying up with dogs in peace sounds nice too!

I'm shattered today so about to head off to bed with a big mug of hot chocolate and my kindle :)

First £80 on the board for my November overpayment target today, hoping to get paid for a bit more work this week so perhaps a bit more to transfer onto the CC soon :)
  • Fleeting MSE visit this morning as I have a million and one jobs to get done today!

Looks like our house has been let so that's a huge relief. Still a few reservations about the references which weren't glowing from the tenants current landlord but beggars can't be choosers, they should be ok and we can't afford to carry the financial burden of two houses for any longer!

Suddenly things are feeling so much more manageable... over the next few months our mortgage payment drops, youngest's funded preschool hours kick in, our sofa will be paid off, and I can get rid of my pricey iPhone contract too... we will be losing child benefit but even with that taken into consideration we will still be £226 better off every month come January which will give our snowball strategy a huge boost.

Another £5 swagbucks Amazon voucher claimed yesterday, I'm trying to do the daily survey everyday to keep the points building up.

Beautiful crisp sunny day here, lovely fresh school run walk, now to get on with housework and errands!

    Have a lovely day everyone!
