Relocating overseas

Hello, just a little update...
Well we have now been for our "look and see" trip to Seoul. It got off to a fairly bad start tbh - the trip from the airport to our hotel took just over an hour and for the entire journey the scenery was pretty grim. To top it off, while we were in the car dh's potential colleague told us he was usually in the office from 7am til 11pm  Next day was house-hunting, despite the agents having been repeatedly informed that we had a big dog our first viewing was on the 34th floor of an apartment block...
Things did, thank goodness, improve and the day before we flew home and right before our (2nd!) relocation/estate agent lost the will to live we found the perfect flat, dh's contract looks great, and so depending on the kids passing entrance exams for school it's Korea here we come :j I must start practicing using chop-sticks!!
Thanks again to all of you who offered help and advice x0 -

Could have sworn I posted something yesterday about this but it seems to have disappeared.Thankfully, it was a short comment so no real loss.
Anyhow, what I basically said was...
Yay, welcome to the world of ex pat living.
All you need to do now is start filling in forms to become non resident and a non UK tax payer!
Check out the direct.gov.uk website.
Good luck!

Hello
Stumbled across this thread and glad I did as my OH has been offered a job in Virginia, USA.
I currently work full time and we have no kids so the thought of moving and having nothing to do all day fills me with horror!
Does anyone have any idea what kind of visa I might get if my husband's company are sponsoring us (well him) and would I be able to work while I'm out there?
Additionally if anyone has any tips on moving to the US specifically I would be eternally grateful!
Please feel free to PM me if easier.
Thank you!!!!

Ooooh, good luck cookiecrumbs, its very exciting, but daunting too!
Dh's contract starts on 1st August so panic is setting in now at how much I have to do
Thanks for the link evi, I'm going to have a look at that now, seems a far easier option than starting to declutter all our assorted carp ready for the relocation company to come and pack everthing up, lol.0
