For tea we're having fillet steak:eek: with peppercorn sauce, well it is nearly my birthday!!

Hi again, can't tell you how good steak was for tea. DH has really excelled (again) Thick fillets coated with peppercorns in a brandy and creme fraiche sauce..... it was so nice. However fillets weren't the most expensive thing, cos as he added the brandy to the pan to flambe it, it caught fire big style, and set fire to the extractor hood filter, melted the coating on two kitchen cupboard doors and melted the fan in the exctractor. DD has been tearing around with a towel wafting both smoke alarms and I've been fanning with the front door to try and get rid of the smoke!!! Ah well, could have been worse, it could have been me that did it!! Sorry for any spelling mistakes, been on the (half price ) wine already!!
Anybody know where we can get some (possibly discontinued) Wickes cupboard doors from???
    Enjoy your evening,

    Evening.

Back to work today.. wasnt TOO bad but thats cos i managed to do virtually nothing all day thanks to customers asking me for stuff all day so me not getting round to doing the jobs i was supposed to.:o Ah well customers come first and a good gab about the wonders of white vinegar (which is only 35p in work!!) beats doing my normal joblist any day! :D(Plus supervisor from hell was off today.... wahooooo!!)

Gave my mum a list of some things to pick up from sainsburys while she was there this afternoon and dad picked me up from work and passed them to me.. mums insisting i dont pay her for any of it!! :j So saved me a few £££ off my grocery spend this month!

Ex-OH has invited me for tea at his tomorrow night! Hes offered to cook me a big roast with my choice of meat :) So ive accepted, its unusual for him to cook (well it was when we were together) so i thought id snap the offer up... plus it means i dont have to cook a roast for one for myself like i was planning!:rotfl:

Off to cook my tea in a min though for myself... trying to decide whether to spend the night vegged infront of the tv... doing uni work... or on here doing ebay listings. Might do an hour of each! :rotfl:

    Ah well..!! Speak later probably.

    Hi

Had a peaceful start to evening, as ds1 and ds2 went to cinema with their aunt, then ds2 came home crying, bad earache! phoned nhs 24, went through 2 nurses, told them about his asthma and his cold he has had since tues, they were concerned about his asthma more than the earache!

We live 14 miles from hospital and as dh is working til 10 had no way of getting him down, but they were adamant they wanted to see him tonight! so dh will take him down for 10.30, cant see why no dr will come out

Hate to think of what to do if it was urgent!!!!

Twink Try and stop worrying about your test, im here for u, know that, hugs.

    Hello to all newbies

Been a quiet day for me today. We pulled out the sofa bed this morning and slept and watched TV all day nursing two nights worth of hangover. I have spent much more than I should have done already this week! Argh! Going to be a quiet night in for me as well as my dear other half has gone out for a night with the lads. He told me to call him if I felt lonely but as he's only been gone 2 and a half hours I think I will just be taking the **** if I call him now!!

Flats not too much of a mess thanks to flying for most of the week. I slipped up on Thursday after drinking and going out. I think I need a nice sleep to be fresh faced for tomorrow!

    Hello all,

Had a really good night last night - was gret fun. I was planning on driving/not drinking, but needless to say that plan went out of the window almost immediately :rotfl: :rotfl:. Had a fantastic chat with one of my co-workers, which I was pleased about - its nice to make new friends.

Anyway have only just got back to the flat - OH has gone out somewhere, hopefully enjoying himself :). Have put a washload on - my first load in the new washer, on a cold wash, so hopefully it will work well. Dining on hot cross buns for tea :)

Hope you all had a good day.

Party? I just sort of had one but I'm [STRIKE]up[/STRIKE] horizontal for another :D

:j :j Thriftlady :j :j I rustled up your moroccan apricot lamb and chickpeas with cous-cous for a bunch of unexpected guests and it was absolutely fantastic! (The alternative was beans on toast  ) Thank you so much for posting that recipe, it is absolutely YUMMY!  (and goes well with whatever wine(s) you happen to have available :rotfl: )

Right, I got a freeby bar of Heaven Choccy in the post yesterday, and now feels sort of like the time, who wants a bit?
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D
