I have used old baked bean tins (the small half-sized ones) to make mini cakes. Also have used Pyrex bowls - sort of small & medium ones to cook a sponge mixture in and then joined them together and iced etc to turn them into 'people' (ie. witches at Halloween etc.)

When my children were in reception class, they made Christmas cakes (complete with marzipan & icing ) in baked bean tins.

At home, we've used pyrex bowls to make 'igloo' cakes - nice and easy. I love that snow type frosting, it's the only sort of icing I'm good at! ;D

when I did parties for my kids I used to ice a batch of fairy cakes and use the writing icing to make one with each child's name on it.
I put these in the party bags to go home and even if someone went home before big cake time they still had one in their bag.
Or sometimes I didn't want to cut up main cake if older rels were coming later.

    teddy bear is easy
bake cakes in one small and one large pyrex bowl, turn out onto cake board flat side down, to make head and body and use mine swiss rolls for arms and legs. Cover with coloured butter icing and rough up to look like fur. Add Cad buttons for eyes etc.

as good one for kids partys and adults actually come to think of it is

get a huge tin of fruit empty it and make a jelly

put an inch of jelly in the tin and let it set

add a pineapple ring and another inch of jelly let it set

and so on till you fill the tin

then when its good and set, plunge into boiling water for a couple of seconds then tip out gently onto a plate

    looks great

big roll of jelly with the fruit inside

They're little wafer teddies that you press down into ice-cream cones. They taste a bit like the continental waffle cones. Tesco & Sainsbury do them and I'm sure I've seen them in ASDA. Only about 6 to a pack, if I can remember, but they are sweet.

I've seen teddy shaped jelly babies too - was it M&S, I wonder?
