bear wafers?? where'd you get them. don't think i've ever seen them  :o

Saw them in ASDA at weekend. They're made by Marcantonio, cost 49p for 20 small ones and half are lovely girl teddies, half boys.

I know it's a bit late, but butterfly cake is easy,
Not the fairy cake type, make a big square sponge, cut half diamonds out of two sides. Should look a bit like two wings, when you cut out the diamonds leave a pencil type cut in them for the butterfly body.
If your creative cut the wing ends wavy (both the same remember)
Use some chocolate matchsticks/cigaretes for antenna, silver balls for eyes etc....
Decorate the wings how ever you like, a fun way is make a water icing in pink and then run white down it, using a skewer pull the white icing through the pink (i think that makes sense)
Decorate around with some jelly creatures, use a green base board for the cake, make it look like a butterly on a leaf.

    HTH

thanks chris got some wafers, they had them in our local busy bees and were 49p for 20 too. sadly 3 yr old found them and there is only 8 left, so will have to get some more and hide them better. :(
  • My boy is 3 next month so with all these suggestions I'm spoilt for choice as to what cake to make him.

Hopefully he'll have forgotton all about his birthday last year when I traumatised him by putting a candle on the cake (he wouldn't touch the cake for hours after!)

no wonder he was traumatized ;D
  • He's never been the same since.......
  • ......and then his post-traumatic shock was worsened when at Christmas we were very cruel and pulled some Christmas crackers, the deafening noise of which caused him further upset!
