Hey Seaxwyn, that's a fab one! Will be putting it in a script tomorrow....I will pay you royalties, of course!

I have just done a really good (if I say so myself!) magic carpet ride. I am quite impressed with it so I hope when I look at it again in the morning it still seems as good! Sometimes when I write stuff I look at it later and think "what a load of crap!" and have to start again!!!

I have talked so much with these bloomin relaxation things in the recording studio that I have lost my voice...

well, not lost it so much as got that gravelly edge to it, but I cannot record today!

It is the sort of voice that is more suited to 0898 premium rate chat lines than relaxing meditations :rotfl:

Perhaps I should utilise it as a money making exercise.....:D

On a more serious note - have had a very abusive phone call from someone purporting to be from the Halifax. If I ever get calls from anyone asking for security info, whether from the phone company, gas etc or the banks, I always politely explain that I do not give my details over the phone when I cannot verify myself who they are, but I am happy to ring back using the number I have on a statement etc, which is not usually a problem.

Today however, the guy got very defensive....when I asked which department he was calling from so that I could call back he said he cannot give me that information due to data protection! I mean, !!!!!!, since when did department names fall under the DPA? He got very agressive so I asked to speak to a supervisor which he refused, before he put the phone down.

So I rang back to make a complaint as by this time I was very upset, and the shouting had made my gravelly voice even more gravelly! I gave the details and was told that no phone call had originated from any department at the Halifax....so I was obviously right to be cautious.

It does make me mad though that people feel they have the right to be that agressive on the telephone.

Have since had a strong cup of coffee - much needed to calm my nerves. Need to stay calm to write more of these scripts - I am slowly getting there but have some way to go still!

Hope everyone else is ok, and having a stress free day xx

Hi P, I was pretty shaken up at the time, tiredness not helping the situation, but now that I know that I did absolutely the right thing, I am fine about it really. Just glad that I am strong enough not to give in to the bully!

I cannot believe that it is almost 1 o'clock and I have achieved..............precisely nothing!

Well, not entirely true, I have written one and a half scripts so far and got a few ideas for others written down. Am giving myself a break to have a coffee and some lunch (well, a bar of chocolate!) and to watch Loose Women, catch up on DFW - how I have missed it! - etc before I knuckle down to some real work!

Not much debt busting going on in the hypno household at the moment, ashamed to say, but also no un-necessary spending either, so that helps I suppose!

Well, I have got a couple more scripts written - not looking too bad now, thankfully.

And I had another argument on the telephone - this time with Onetel. I had my phone with them a few years ago. Then moved to BT then moved to TalkTalk (for my sins - did it for quidco cashback but never even tracked so had to raise an enquiry, obviously it was never supposed to be easy!)

Now, TalkTalk and Onetel are in the process of merging. So TalkTalk opens a new account for me and sets up DD payment with my bank. All fine.

Unfortunately some twit at Onetel decides to do the same, billing me for a Onetel account I closed 3 years ago and what is worse tries to take money out of an old bank account that is pending closure!!

So not only do I have a bill for a current phone provider, I have one for an old provider, that I no longer use, plus I have a bounced DD fee from the bank because funds were requested when I had no money there (because I was closing the account). So I ring up and complain and they apologise and say they will refund the money, but instead, Onetel pass it to their legal dept to claim the money from me for the bill that bounced

All this happened in January and has been going backwards and forwards since - in the meantime the bank have charged not only for the bounced DD which then created an unauthorised overdraft, but they have charged for the unauthorised overdraft as well - a total of £78 for a bill of £9.10 that wasn't even supposed to have been issued!

So after a big complaint letter in April, they telephoned me (all the way from Bombay, bless em, where they don't seem to understand the bank charge thing - not THEIR fault, but certainly not mine) to say they would refund and compensate. Nothing arrived.

So at the end of May I wrote again giving them 7 days to respond. Now I am quite a generous soul so waited until today to ring again. First off all I was told a letter had been sent out in May. Then I was told that it hadn't. Then I was told that one department was dealing with my first complaint letter but another department was dealing with my second letter. And so it goes on.

He ended up by telling me that I would get a telephone call back "after some days".

Why has everyone got it in for me! I get fed up of fighting all these people who are just too bloody stupid to sort a simple thing out

Sorry....rant over....off to do some calming scripts :A

Thanks LJ - I am even struggling at the mo to think of something for the "one positive thing" thread, and I haven't even started the "what small thing" thread for a few days.

Need a holiday.....somewhere hot and sunny........where the food is fab and the drink is free.....and when I come home I can find the housework fairies have been.....

    No

    Oh well.....x

Hypno, that is a terrible situation with the phone company. I am so angry for you.

Ring up the Guardian Consumer Champion or whatever they are called - have a look in the Money section tomorrow (Saturday) - they are really good at taking on these situations and getting results. If you don't have access to a Guardian let me know and I'll ask my Guardian-reading sister to find out how to contact them.

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down. It's not surprising with the pressure of writing and reading all those scripts. I'm sure you can think of lots of things to be positive about - how about the fact that you don't have to do any recording over the weekend.

And as for that longed for holiday, didn't you mention Devon, and August?
