  • Hello everyone, just had to post because i have spent the last hour reading your diary, and i have to say its a complete inspiration. I'm a teacher too and looking for extra ways of making money to clear debt as my daughter has had so much time off with medical conditions that i gave up teaching to look after her- i couldn't concentrate anyway!! I usually lurk on the site gleaning tips and have so far managed to claim back over £100, as well as general MSE saving way of life. Hope everything is going well as regards your sister- if it helps any my best friend was in a similar prediciment as she had Bi polar problems and has successfully come out of the other side even though problems are ongoing her positeve approach to problems and consulting with professional bodies have helped tremendously. keep going with everything and thankyou for a brill thread.

is it a disclosure scotland form? i have had one take 5 days and another 6 months ...my last one took approx 3 weeks to complete the annoying thing is i have about 6 on the go at the moment but for every new thing i start i have to get a new one

Are you talking about CRB checks - I have 6 altogether -3 from Essex County Council as different departments each want there own one!!!! Add in 2 x swimming teaching (2 pools), Scout Association and its a complete waste of time and money. Why they can't be transferrable within two years goodnesonly knows

Hi hypno..well done on the housework..my first CRB took 9 weeks to come through and I was on the phone to them all the time...the first one always takes the longest as they have to get info from your local police station as well...Can you not either ring the CRB or the prison to find out how long it is likely to take...

Hi all, and welcome to boredofbeingathome!! I hope you continue posting - the support round here is invaluable!!

Just having another brief break for coffee while I am uploading some work stuff onto the laptop - takes forever, but gives me an excuse to put the kettle on and catch up a bit on here, without feeling guilty!!

Re CRB checks, I have loads already too, but I think this one is a bit more involved - being for a prison and all that. As I say, it is not as though I can't fill the time up with other things, but it would be nice to know that I can earn some regular money sooner rather than later. I have the ability to take 2 months mortgage holiday, so may have to do that if it doesn't come through soon, rather than to worry myself silly about it.

Sis is getting help, and is generally a very positive person, so I am hopeful for her. Thanks for the positive words.

HI Hypno..it will def be a enhanced check as you will be working with vulnerable people but if you've already had one it shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks but it's worth calling the CRB as they will be able to tell you what stage it's at
