Ooh, hi BAUK, didn't see you there! I was hoping to start this week, but clearance has not come through so I am awaiting a phone call! I have done a tiny bit informally, but can't do any paid work just yet, although I hope it is not much longer!

I am very much looking forward to it, and the challenges that it will bring. I certainly think that some of them can make a difference to their lives while they are there. Others, I know, will not want to, but for those that do, hopefully I can do my bit!

    Hiya Hypno
You're still sounding busy. I know what you mean about squeezing out that extra hour. I was going to do nothing tonight and just put my feet up. Instead i've done two loads of washing, taken all the pictures off the walls and the shelves down ready for filling all holes etc tomorrow and cleared up three lots of dog sick (the last thing wasn't really optional!). I'm really going to try and sit and do nothing for an hour now. Hope you're keeping well xx

Ooh, dog sick. Def not one you can put off until the morning!

Having said I will do another hour of work, I have done nothing but be on here! The more rational side of my brain obviously won the battle tonight - I am too tired to carry on working right now!

KC, having a laugh with OH!! That's a laugh in itself - he is at work (again) and we hardly ever see each other because we both work so much. In addition he has man flu.....say no more :p

    Clean carpets and sofas
    Hall and staircase
    Clean kids room
    Tidy kitchen drawers
    Tidy bedroom drawers
    Tidy out walk-in wardrobe

Just quoting my own post so I can cross off all the things I've accomplished today.....

You be careful now, don't want to over do things!

Talking of which, I have just posted the following on the New Year Challenge Thread........

Right then, my 2008 challenges are as follows:
    • Make my minimum payments and snowball when things finally start to clear!
    • Save in a separate account the money to pay off my secured loan by the end of the year £12000 ish - probably do this using olympic challenge money throughout the year.
    • Do the sealed tin challenge - use the money towards replacement windows that we desperately need before the old ones fall out!
    • Go for a free Christmas 2008
    • Grow more of my own food stuff in my tiny garden - particularly salad, veg and fruit.
    • Meal plan and grocery shopping challenges are a must. This will be really hard for me but vital if I am to stick to the above challenges!!
Phew, looks like I have got my work cut out - also need to lose a couple of stone, but that is going to be harder than all of the above :rotfl:

Thought I had better put it on here, just so I can remind myself what a mad fool I am.....and that I bring all my stress upon myself :o

Those are pretty challenging...er....challenges (:o), but good ones, and I think they will be achievable for you. And now you have committed them to your diary, there's no going back!

That's what I thought! I think they are sort of do-able though. It would be fab to get the total down by a reasonable amount. Also I have a small (well it was originally 10k, but it is now down to £1500) loan which finishes in the summer, so we can start snowballing properly!! Woo hoo!

2007 has been a good year in terms of debt busting, but a very roller coaster year in terms of finances generally.

2008 is going to be far more stable financially, taking a bit of the stress out, so I can hopefully use the "extras" like bingo, matched betting, ebay, blah blah blah to do some serious overpaying!

Oh forgot to mention next year's ski challenge - I don't want to end up in the mad panic that I am in this year, so will be starting that one early :D

I am almost sad to say that I wish it was Jan 2008 already - then I would be working, and could plan properly - shouldn't be wishing life away, but it would be quite nice, just this once!!
