Morning hypno, morning fellow houseworkers
Well my kitchen is more or less clean. Not immaculate by any normal person's standards but pretty good by mine.
What's the next room hypno? I know we can pick our own by I'm so pathetic I have to copy you!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Seaxwyn, you crack me up :rotfl:

I think Stardrops is fab - I haven't found any other cleaner that makes things sparkle and shine like stardrops does.
I do dilute it into an old squirty spray bottle and I use hot water to do it on a morning before I start cleaning; generally I give places like the sink, wndows and bathroom a "polish" afterwards with an old towel or paper towels (foir glass). I cleaned my Mum's kitchen a couple of weeks ago and she had Flash spray and I kept saying "Well, it looks clean but there's no shine!"
For people who haven't found any in their local area Wilkinsons now have WilkinsonPlus online - very good if there are other things you want there too (or if you want to buy a BIG bulk load of stardrops!!). 58p a bottle, £2.95 delivery charge and 4.5% cashback through Quidco0 -
Hiya!
I know that feeling of waking up too early so well! Not worrying, exactly, just the mind racing, its dreadful. Coffee and kitchen seems to be the concensus from all 3 of you this morning - and I agree, Seaxwyn, I'm copying hypno shamelessly on which room is the focus, even if I've done a bit extra here and there. Feeling better this morning, am forswearing chocolate wheat and cow's milk completely (done it before for a couple of years). I'll let myself have a tiny bit of chocolate every other day at Christmas, maybe, but for now, this it it. Still letting myself have sugar (but brown, not white) and coffee (but I only have two proper ones a day).
So today, on the housework challenge - cook the plums I bought last week (see, natural sugar) and clean the kitchen floor. I'd like to say I'll scrub the kettle (top of the hob, it gets mucky) but I'm not sure how much energy I'll have.
Hypno, hope your day goes well, taxiing the kids about, college work and mini-flylady challenge. Take care!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
OK I am going to incur your wrath here. Stardrops are not for me. I find it does not do as it says. Much prefer ZoFlora. Made by the same people I believe. Lasts longer, smells fresher and cleans better. Mind you I am a man and perhaps I should not get involved in this cleaning stuff:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ( that was a joke, please do not include me in the same vein as Rodney Marsh)

I've never seen a bottle of Stardrops. I don't even believe they exist!
But if they did exist, and were as good as people say, I'd be seriously worried about the eco-friendliness!
I mainly use hot water and elbow grease, with whatever all-purpose cleaner I can find in the cupboard. Last night I was too lazy to look in the cupboard and washed the kitchen floor with washing up liquid and it looks OK.
Testing day ahead as DD3 has insisted on a roast lunch - something I do once in a blue moon. So the clean(ish) kitchen will soon be full of steam and splattered gravy.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

I use hot water and a small scoop of washing powder to wash the floors when I'm using a mop. Gets it clean and the house smells lovely!yellowmonkey wrote: »OK I am going to incur your wrath here. Each to their own. I can't stand the smell of zoflora - -cheap and floral is not for me. Mind you it could be because I used to work in a pub and they washed their floors with it - don't need reminding of washing down sticky, beery, cigarette-y ash bar floor every time I do the cleaning! (Funny how smells take you back places!)
Anyway, I am finding it really hard to believe that hypno's thread has become a household hints and tips thread, lol!0 -
