    hiya hypno

re the boots spend, I am very very proud of you! you deserve a treat especially since you can't do any celebrating on your birthday (well except the coffe and cake, :T to the wonderful person who sent you that).

I probably won't be online before you go out for the day so I hope you have as good a birthday as you can under the circumstances. Maybe you could all have a special dinner (preferably not cooked by you!) on saturday as a delayed birthday treat?

Huge big birthday hugs from me darling

    Thanks LJ :j

I did come away with a nice number of boots points by the time I had used my extra points coupons......so I could go back and "spend" them next time I need shampoo and conditioner (and a treat!) :p

I also need to buy trousers - for work in the prison, it seems more appropriate to wear a trouser suit than a skirt suit. So, thank goodness for piggy points, because I can take my Wallis vouchers that I got for my clicks and buy some trousers in their pre-Christmas sale!

Off to bed now - OH is still on the coast, sandbagging and has just called to say he may be there all night.......it is not looking good over there, and I think he wants to do his Boy Scout thing!!! Typical, MiL has 2 houses - one on the seafront, one on the river.....not good when it is the worst flooding in the area for 54 years expected and the environment agency are warning "danger to property and life".........!

I hope James&Shell are ok.....haven't heard from James on here for a while, and they are in that area too.

Right, off to bed. For tomorrow I become old :rotfl:

Not a special birthday, SSL - I hope to be debt free before my next big one!!

Well, woke up this morning to no OH - he is in Yarmouth doing his Noah act :D The strange thing is that the funeral is this afternoon in Yarmouth but the town has been completely cut off - no one is allowed in. So although OH is there already, we cannot get there, as things stand at the moment! Things will change throughout the day, I expect but we just have to keep listening to the radio etc to see what's what!

So, who knows how the day will pan out  Mother Nature doing her "thing" and we have to respect her........but she could have done it on a different day :o

I hope you all have a good day x

    Hi sweetie!

Hope you're not missing the OH too much, and that he stays safe, I've got the news on in the background as I'm typing.

And.....fun at Boots!!!! ..... yay! Very glad you spent something on yourself, you do so little of that, have a lovely day.

Thanks KC! At the moment the flood defences are just about holding on, so fingers crossed that the surge doesn't breach them. We will know, any minute now as high tide is due very shortly.

In times like this there is only one thing to do.......go and put the kettle on!

  • First things first! Happy Birthday, hypno, if it isn't insensitive to wish you happiness on such a testing day.

Good for you spending a little money on yourself:j . Consider them birthday presents to yourself. After all, you've kept your family afloat(and probably more of that needed with the floods:rotfl: ) practically single-handed since goodness knows when. Not only that but you've given them every possible advantage in life despite having the daily worry of how to fund it. You're a star, hypno, and don't ever forget it!

I hope all goes well at the funeral and that DH, his family and property are all safe. I also hope you and pania have a wonderful girls binge at Cafe Costa.

I live in rural Lincolnshire about 4 miles inland from the sea and DH was up early this morning and has gone to see the high tides scheduled for around 5 o'clock. Needless to say I turned down the chance of accompanying him:rotfl: . I don't think the current floods are going to affect us too badly but I really feel for all the poor souls who are worrying about it this morning.

    Take care
    Big hugs to all

Here is how my day is panning out.....

no one knows if the funeral can go ahead - the undertakers are not able to get in because the town has been cut off!

BiL has just rung me - he is on his way down from Yorkshire, but obviously doesn't know if funeral will go ahead. His original intention was that they would stay in Yarmouth tonight after the funeral........

So, because of the uncertainties etc, he is coming here (4 of them!) and have asked to kip on our floor!

Now, if you have ever seen the state of my house, you would know that this is going to be a tad difficult at the mo, so because I didn't do my housework yesterday, I have to cancel coffee with P (have asked her to come here for a cuppa instead) and will have to tidy tidy tidy!

Why oh why can I not be organised - if I did my housework yesterday, It would not be a problem today.....but I didn't so today is nothing but unpredictable!!
