  • Morning hypno! grr about the bad night's sleep - I'm with you on that one. DS came and said he had an upset stomach last night then proceeded to vomit...everywhere!
So been up most of the night with him. DD has hardly slept either as she gets really upset when somene is ill.
On the bright side I wouldn't have slept anyway as a colleague phoned last night full of stories of doom and gloom about work that have been buzzing round my head all night.
Anyone got any good techniques for clearing minds?

Looks like a busy list you have today - don't envy you on that one!

SF, please don't worry about the flute music! You have other things on your mind hun xx

Choco, sorry that you had to clear up after DS. My DD is the same - if her brother is ill or hurt, she gets more upset than he does! Shame they don't share the same sibling love during the day, when they are very capable about bickering over the tiniest thing!!

I have just been onto online banking and saw that Barclays, those lovely people, have pre-approved me for a loan! Now, I know that consolidation is not recommended here, but I could very happily consolidate to a short term loan at a decent rate, as you know that most of our debt is at 25% +.

So, I went onto the loan calculator and it says I can have.....£11700 (enough to pay off two credit cards).......at an apr of.....

    24.9% :rotfl:

    Yeah right....clicked "cancel" right away!!

Now Hypno that.1% could make all the difference ! ;)
The state of the house had really got to me-it had got to the point where it was too overwealming to know where to start ...so I didn't. The surveyor turning up early helped enormously as I HAD to blitz so will continue the good work today. Now I've said it here-I HAVE to-right ?
Have a lovely day everyone and I hope the heavy head lifts Hypno

Is the funeral on your birthday? That's a shame. Have you got anything nice planned as well (do I remember a mention of concert tickets?)

Could DS wear school trousers to the funeral?

That list of tasks is daunting but if you do even half of them the house will feel a lot better.
    Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.62

  • I'm with Seaxwyn on the new funeral trousers situation. I'm sure you always send your family out looking clean and tidy, hypno, despite you letting us think you are a !!!!!! when it comes to housework etc:rotfl: . Unless his school trousers are now too short and half-way up his calves, or he is allowed to wear joggers at his school:eek: I'd spruce them up a bit tonight when he takes them off and let him go in those. The days of getting all dressed up in brand-new togs for funerals is long-gone and he will be just as respectful to Grandpa whatever he wears. It might save you an unneccessary expense too unless he is in dire need of new trousers anyway. I see your green light's out so you're probably already at the shops as I type!

Have a good day and try to find a little time for yourself(if that's ever possible in hypnoland:rotfl: ) to rest your poor head and get in the mood for tomorrow's sadness.

    Take care

  • Hi Hypno, where can i read your debt diary? You've inspired me so much by the amount of money you've managed to pay off. How did you do it? please send me the link as i'm very interested. Also you deserve the holiday, don't feel guilty as everyone needs to let their hair down sometimes!

Don't forget the flask of obligatory coffee to read this diary with!! You will need it to stay awake for a start!!

Funeral trousers.....well, to be honest they are going in their school uniforms - they look very smart and they don't have anything else suitable. However, DS only has one pair of school trousers, that I omitted to take up soon enough, so are frayed at the bottom of one leg, which is fine for school, but not for a funeral. He really needs a second pair, but couldn't afford them at the time, so I will just be buying an additional pair of grey trousers - can wear them for the funeral, then for school later.

And yes.....the funeral is on my birthday......great! I have bought myself concert tickets, but the concert is not til 5th December!

Oh well......will come home after the funeral, collapse and open a bottle of wine or something similar........
