I have a little 'tidy 5 things up' mantra that helps me keep the house tidy (when my housework fairy is busy doing other fairy things).
During the day I do tend to sit on the sofa quite a bit, either cuddling/feeding Tasha, browsing MSE, Facebook, watching TV etc, but I also get up and down a lot, to go to the loo, do nappies, play with Tasha, pick her up and put her down for feeds, cuddles, etc, go for a drink, make lunch....loads of reasons.
So what I do is I have a rule that every time I stand up, I have to put 5 things away. Just 5, and they can be easy things like picking 5 toys up and putting them in the toy box. But gradually, over the course of a few days, your house becomes tidier, without you feeling like you are doing anything extra."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
My mum used to do a similar thing with us, but she was a hard task master and it was 10 things a time!
The other things she used to do with us were "10 minute tidies" or getting up when the adverts appeared, or the credits were rolling, and doing as much as you could before the theme tune came back on!

Thats it all this talk of housework....I'm going to do this house from top to bottom...declutttering as I go...so tomorrow I will declutter under the stairs...so it's ready when I get some storage boxes to do the other rooms...won't start tonight as I'm tired but am off tomorrow...0
