Morning guys (boy do I dislike mornings - I really do hope that I can get a lay in next week when the children are away!!)

Another sound night's sleep last night but I still feel tired! I think I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Today I have a mystery shop to do and some last minute stuff for the children's trip to Austria, plus taking DD to the docs later this morning. I need to do a bit of the housework challenge but won't get as much done as last week.

I hope you all have a productive day xx

Ok, not sure if there is a "proper" housework challenge today, I know that El is sadly off to a funeral so can't take part, but perhaps others of you need a bit of a blitz so will join me!

Today I don't have as much time as I had last week, but I am pledging to do the following:
    • [STRIKE]kitchen worktops, floor[/STRIKE], table, [strike]shine my sink[/strike]
    • [strike]load dishwasher[STRIKE][/strike], and put away stuff when done. Reload [/STRIKE][STRIKE]as necessary.[/STRIKE]
    • Iron student's clothes, for her to take away for half term.
    • [strike]Put "excess" ski bits back in the box and put away.[/strike]
    • [strike]Water plants[/strike]
    • [STRIKE]Run hoover round hall and lounge[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Do at least one load of washing[/STRIKE], dry, and put away.
That said, I had better get dressed, and get a move on!!

Blimey - wot a lot! No housework challenge here, I'm afraid - off to London to work today. What I *really* want to do is wash all the dishes. I even had 10 mins of decluttering last night, so amongst the dishes is a charity shop butter dish that I don't actually like, to be cleaned and taken back to a charity shop. As I recently posted on the MFi3 thread, I *dream* of the day I can downsize to a 2-bedder with a courtyard garden..... have a good day, hypno, I hope dd recovers well - and that you get more sleep!

  • Fingers crossed that your daughter is feeling a little better and your GP thinks she'll be OK for the skiing trip.

Don't stress too much about the housework challenge, you've got enough on your plate today getting the children organised, your mystery shop and even ironing:eek: . Plenty of time for a real housework blitz next week when you have the house to yourself.

I'm glad to hear your student is going away for half-term too, and hope with the house to yourselves for once that you and your DH can enjoy some probably much-needed quality time together;) .

    Have a good day

    Hi guys!
Next week is going to be a food fest I think - for Christmas my mum paid a local restaurant the cost of 2 meals for 2 which she then made into vouchers for us. Needless to say, we haven't yet had chance to use them, so next week we have 2 meals out courtesy of my Mum......OH has marked them in his diary as "going on a date".......hmm, not sure what else he is expecting then ;)

Also, my Mum is going next Saturday, on a round the world trip, so before she goes we are having a meal out at a local thai restaurant, just me and Mum, so that is a 3rd meal out!!

If I can get on top of the housework fairly early on in the week, we might even be able to manage some sort of "calm" element to the week too!! Or is that just hoping for too much right now??

Anyway, have made a start on the chores, so even if I don't do masses, I have done SOMETHING!

KC, you WILL get to the point where you can have your dream xx

So, P, you are selling houses with the "minimalistic" look then!!

As for the key to your house.......hmm....NO!! (sorry, there is far too much in my house for one person to do in their lifetime, I cannot cope with anyone else's too!!)

I did threaten the children that if their rooms were not tidy before they left, then I would hire a skip.......actually, I will do the more MSE version and put it all on ebay :p

Speaking of which, I am setting myself a challenge, because it is soooooo long since I had one!!! It is my half term ebay/car boot challenge........I want to raise £100 from ebaying etc by the time the children go back to school a week on Monday. Very doable I think - just need to get my backside in gear! Watch this space :D

Can I play? Can I play?

I need to recoup the money i've spent on baby clothes. DD is off school today (teacher training) and I need to wait in for a parcel. Weather is lousy anyway, so we're going to spend the day pottering and seeing what we can find for ebay / freecycle / Bags 2 School / bin. I already have a few ebay things but nothing that will raise much I don't think. Would be nice to raise £100 or so though - I think a challenge might help!
  • Hypno, I cant see my kitchen for all the dirty dishes!!! Got my 'new to me' (ie free) dishwasher on Wednesday, but its leaking a bit! Hopefully BF will be able to fix it this morning, so I can load the dishwasher. Run out of marigolds so cant hand wash, heh heh

We'll all be waiting to hear how DD gets on - if it is any consolation I am prone to chest infections - somehow always when I am just ready to go on holiday - and this year and last year went to Switzerland and Austria and the cold clear climate was great. I was not skiing though - just walking. There is something about holidays that means I always get ill; including Christmas.
