Thanks Z, I know I was just being an irrational mother, although the German doctor did make me think I should apply for membership of the MSE bad mothers' club for letting her go!!

Anyway, knowing how much they love skiing, and if they love it as much as I do, then she will go and have a fab time even if she is ill! I know I would have made the same decision if it was me - in fact when I was 15, I went against the wishes of the doctors at a hospital in Austria the day after a bad accident, to get back onto the mountains, because I couldn't bear the thought of everyone else skiing, and me sitting bored in the dormitory! I conveniently "forgot" to ring home and tell my Mum what had happened - the first she knew was when the bill for the ambulance hit her doormat before I even got home :o

P, are you ok........I am a bit worried about you 23_4_169.gif

sweetie i'm sorry was playing around just then, have read through the rest of your posts and no time to joke. Your concern for DD as a mother is entirely natural and especially with her being so far away from you next week. Hell my mother still worries about me when i have a cold, I live 100 miles away and am 30 so of course your going to worry!! I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that pulmonary embolism is a blockage in the arteries built up over time and not hereditary in any way. DD would not have reached the age to build up such a blockage at all in any shape or form so please please put your mind to rest on that one. She may have had a weakness in her lungs due to her earlier problems and something is irritating that right now. The X-ray will show what that irritant maybe and if there are any inflammed areas in the lungs. I'm sure she is just being thorough hon. If you want to natter you know where i am. Was going to do a "just popped in" on my way home form work earlier, wish i had now. Big hugs. xxx

Joke away, P!! I can take it :rotfl:

Well, the children have gone to bed and the bags are in the car, so now I have to get on with the ironing for the student - she is going to Scotland for half term on a bit of an explore, so will bung her stuff in a bag about 10 mins before she leaves!! I don't really know why I am ironing it, because it will get creased as soon as it goes in her bag, but I am being a good host mother :A

Doctors are like that. I go to mine and get the spiel about how my anti-inflammatories have all these side effects (which will kill me).

You've got to humour them and pretend you're listening, it's interesting, you haven't heard it before, and you haven't already weighed up the risks.

So you've either stopped a free-range chicken from free ranging, or made it even more free in it's ranging. Depending on your point of view...
