We have just sat and watched "the pursuit of happyness" - a really nice film and I would recommend it to anyone!

    Hi Hypno

We watched it the other week - one of the free trial DVD rentals we had (currently tarting them!). What a great film - did you cry? I did! It's that sort of film!

    Hi hypno

Yep, I'm good - exhausting working after the men have done their thing with the porch, and there have been a couple of problems they've found (drain in the ground goes the wrong way, and a lintel was taken out last year by some double glazing men who didn't replace it). But the work they're doing is great, and in the meantime I'm trying to clear the front garden a bit - by leaving it alone, I thought I was creating a wildlife garden, but I wasn't, I was letting everything get overgrown and horrible, to the extent of roots starting to undermine walls. So I'm sawing, and pulling up ivy, all sorts of things. What a day!

Evening Hypno..glad you have got yourself an accountant...mines great as I send my plastic wallets with bank statements, receipts etc in monthly order...he goes through them and writes them up and fills in all the forms...2 individual self assessment forms and a joint partnership form..all for the grand charge of £150...which is tax deductible....I've used him for 6 years as with our business now its complicated with loans capital gains or whatever allowances...he's cheap for me as I got him loads of new business...and he says my books are a lot easier than a lot he gets in and that mine are very detailed!!!!...so I wouldn't worry about that

Hi all, just popping on briefly in between seeing clients.

I have sold a book on Amazon - only a couple of £ but still goes in the pot! Also, am very pleased to see £70 more tracked on topcashback in the last couple of days - bingo and the vanquis card. OK, before anyone shouts me down for a vanquis card, I don't want to use it, I just want the £20 cashback!! Although because they said they couldn't give me an instant decision on line I fear that I can't even get accepted for one of them :rotfl:

Mr Hypno may be applying for a Vanquis card too :o

I now have well over £400 tracked/validated/confirmed in cashback sites - all due to pay out before Christmas. Let's hope they all pay out without hassle, that will be a nice amount of extra money to put towards the debt.

hope everyone has a good evening x

Thanks for the bingo info Hypno. think I'll have a look into it and other related stuff the week after next when OH is away for the week - will have plenty of time to myself to investigate this sort of thing

The accountant sounds like a good idea too, I'm no expert but looking at the mystery shopping thread when people are talking about being self employed it looks like you can claim back for loads of things - hope they're useful.

morning all! Another busy day ahead of me today, including my meeting with the accountant, so hopefully that will go well, and quite busy client wise too.

I also need to do some more "organising" - get some stuff on ebay, do some surveys and do some adminny stuff. I kept up the online spending diary yesterday evening so I am hoping that this will become a good habit for me, although a very scary one. I have never managed to keep up with the paper versions so hopefully one on my laptop will be better used.

I hope everyone has a good day xx
