Thanks hypno - I can get that. I do just use the one diary for all that, but I must admit some of the "do housework" stuff, that I don't want clients to see, is written in purposely bad handwriting. And of course, with writing everything in it, there's such a lot in it, no one entry can easily be seen. I'll scan the page for earlier this week, blocking out clients' names, and post it up - you'll see what I mean, its got everything in this week, including my partner's holiday, the Perseids, a web seminar (webinar!), some private time, all sorts.

Have a good day hypno, all, I'm off now. Kisses and hugs.

Worth checking Olive. They become usable a lot more frequently than every 34 years:rotfl: .

I think I've hit on something here, might submit the tip to the board where people post their best ways of cutting back tips. All they need to do is buy a diary, never use it, store it for a few years and hey presto... a usable diary without having to spend anything:j .

Well I've got lots of old diaries stored but all used. So I just need a pot of tippex (now would that cost more than a new diary?)

  • Dare I say it, I'm getting all excited about this getting organised stuff, even more so this time because I feel I am in good company :)
I've started it and then drifted off it so many times in the past, I don't know what happens, I just get too busy and tired I suppose.

I just had to share my diary arrangement sorry Hypno, I know this is your thread!
I use Outlook for my main calendar, I've put all my dates and bills due in there. In the Task section I have listed everything I need to do for the forseeable future, including projects I'm working on, with a loose start date and it helps me keep to it better when I see the date turn pink (that tells me its coming up within a week) each entry with a reminder if it needs one, then I sync it all to my phone so I have an audible reminder. Then I have my filofax with a week to a page and notes on the other side. This helps me see at a glance when I'm out and about if I am available for something, I can scribble it in quickly, then put it in my calendar when I get home. And the notes section for the week is great, Usually there are a few things I need doing for that week and sometimes it doesn't matter when so if I write it in there, I remember it and more often than not I find a way to slot it in as I go about my business.
Notebooks - I have many. One is my journal, for rants and general observations about myself and life etc. I also have a beautiful small leatherbound jotting notebook with loose replaceable (recycled) pages, in there goes peoples phone numbers ideas for articles etc (I'm a writer/designer). I try to use pencil or eraseable pen so I can rub it out when I transfer the information to a more permanent place later.
Another notebook is for money, things I can do to save it, things to sell, and anything related really. (I also have a tiny one with a ladybird on it that I will start to use to jot down everything I spend with each tiny little page for one day, which won't allow me to spend on too many things heh).
Another is for self improvement - exercises I read in self help books, stuff that wouldn't really fit in my journal.
Since I use soo many I usually just keep my eyes out for really cheap and fun ones when I'm out and about. There always seems to be on sale somewhere. I can't remember the last time i bought one full price.

Speaking of unused diaries, I was given a black velvet-like WHsmith one for a (strange) valentines gift, and I haven't wanted to use it yet. I'm going to save it since it seems a waste to start using it this year! I will check out when its next useable heh.

LOL @ dragonwings......I didn't dare post that I also bought a beautiful hardback notebook for "jottings" - all my brainstorming that has just been on a pad of paper is now going in my new lovely notebook - it looks lovely from the outside but woe betide anyone who looks inside - they may have a small heart attack at the random money making/life enhancing stuff I bung in there - mindmaps, calculations, worst case scenarios, and best case scenarios etc etc.

I feel better now Dragonwings got in there first :rotfl:

Anyway, diary so far working well.......washing done, ironing (well an hour of) done, half an hour admin done, this morning's post dealt with and DD de-nitted (you're not the only one Seaxwyn with lovely tasks to do today!!).

Now just finishing off coffee and will be off to the recording studio. Catch you all later!!

2 - To do list (I have panic attacks/depression so forget things)

Haha... I've known my OH since March and only last week dared explain what all my various notebooks were for... he's still around so he can't think I'm that insane!
As for everyone else, I keep my notebooks close to my chest, but they can think what they like if they see them.. chances are my scrawl would mean nothing to them anyway heh.

I get panic attacks too.. and I'm struggling with depression, and my short term memory is shot. I also find getting stuff out on paper helps relieve it a little, so for many reasons I've become very attached to my notebooks and won't be without them!

They are like a safety net, I discussed them with my doctor and she thought that they were a great idea. My OH thinks they are really funny.
