Hi KC!! (and everyone that posted while I was typing this up!)

Well, I have one diary that is for clients/work only. I block out the times I cannot work and then simply put in client appts etc. This is for clients only because it has their personal contact details in eg tel number & brief detail of what therapy they need, so I don't like taking it out and about because of confidentiality.

Also, when booking their next appt, the client may see the relevant page of the diary, so to have "washing, ironing, half hour of shredding" may not give them the impression that I am trying to create!!

Then I have been using my filofax as the general "everything else" diary, but although the main activities are in there - back to school, birthdays, ski races, karate etc, there is not a lot of space for the other stuff that I am letting lapse.

So, I am basically swapping my filofax for the new diary on a "personal/household" level. It will have "work" in there but only "4.30 reflexology" no other details type thing. Because I really do need to have the discipline, it has "washing, ironing, deal with the post, clear the kitchen, do the dishwasher, clicks & surveys, check mystery shopping sites, banking, send 2 birthday cards, do menu plan" in it today and I can tick them off as they are done, whereas normally I start a list on a scrap of paper, then lose it, or "forget :o " to look at it!

Then, when I go out to meetings, or whatever, I can take my filofax which is lovely and makes me look like the organised person, I am aiming to become!

    So:

Client diary - for work only
Filofax - for brief entries but generally for public use only!
Main diary - for living real life, the majority of the time. Would be embarrassing if anyone ever saw the entry "9am - be showered and dressed by now"........but it is in there!

    I can but try!

Or 'comb headlice out of children's hair' which was in my (mental) diary for today! Ticked off, by the way. Now for my own....

i keep buying diary's and starting them then just seem to loose interest...

That could be me talking, elantan:rotfl:

I did have a fantastic DFW bonus this year though. In January(and one of my New Year Resolutions I actually attempted)I was sorting through a box of stuff which had been buried in the shed for years and came across a totally unused diary for 1973. Just goes to show what a hoarder/!!!!!! I am:o .

The bonus bit is that it is a lovely 'Page a Day' type(costing all of 77p when bought from WHSmith) and there was absolutely nothing written in it. And apart from the year, all the dates/days correspond with this year, i.e. 17th August was a Friday in 1973 too:j . So I've been using it this year and didn't have to spend a penny on buying one. I normally wait until part way through the year to buy mine normally, when shops are reducing them, but by then bad habits tend to be set and I can never get interested enough to keep one going.

Morning Hypno and all....the diaries are definitely a good idea and I may try it myself as I get up sometimes and think I'm sure I'm meant to be somewhere today and then can't place where I'm meant to be...I think a list of those to do jobs every day is great a idea and anything else can be a godsend especially ticking them off...I can also have a list of admin jobs to do.housework etc...I think my NSD will be out of the window today.....will buy 2 diaries while out!!!
  • No elantan, I'm actually using the diary this year. It was a kind of LBM in a way, being given a second chance with a 34 year old diary:rotfl: . I couldn't just waste it could I? It was meant to be.

What a lovely story Impompdasp, that would give me a big thrill.

I actually had a page a day diary for this year, it was my birthday present from my OH. But I didn't use it and gave it to someone who put a Wanted ad on Freecycle. In return she gave me three bars of chocolate.

Now I wish I still had it so I could join in and get organised.

3 bars of chocolate for a diary - I think you got yourself a bargain :rotfl:

OH and I were clearing old paperwork last night (boxes and boxes of the stuff) and came across a number of old unused diaries, none of them 34 years old, but some may match the next couple of years date for day............:T
