I was asked recently how many diaries/notebooks one person can possibly use - someone saw inside my handbag and I have 3.
I have a diary for work, one for college/home and a notebook in case I need to write anything down.
What I didnt admit to is having several more note books on my desk at homeIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

I've been thinking for a while that I need a notebook by the side of my bed.
I often wake up thinking about something, then lie awake stressing about the fact that I need to remember it in the morning.
Would that be so badIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

No not at all. That's where my general jotter lives at night.
Things go in and out of my head so quickly that they have to be written down.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Oh my goodness, I've got so many old notebooks lying about which I've bought, scribbled a few things in, then put aside.. before thinking 'ooh I should get a notebook to scribble things down in' and buying another one and doing the same again!
Just dug some of them out again to use for story ideas thanks to the short story challenge, but I really should use them more, rather than the mass of bits of paper and post-its that usually surrounds me... :rotfl:
Am absolutely useless with diaries - I use a calendar at work but at home I start one every year and never keep it up. Luckily I've got quite a good memory for dates when I'm doing things! Hypno - it's funny you should mention having one that's lovely on the outside, I always feel sort of guilty about getting really nice ones then writing in an awful messy scrawl insideDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

I have a small A5 whiteboard and pen next to my bed for this very reason!! Its currently sporting the amount of money I have left for groceries/spends this month, a drawing of some kind of sea life ( was watching a wildlife prog before bed :rotfl: ) and a barely legible array of things I should get round to doing and random calculations!!
I have a work diary (wee A5 ring binder with a layout that I made up in word and printed out - mon to fri only with a huge to do list area!). I use my mobile phone's calandar function to remind me of dentist/doctor/ meet friends type but I kinda need something for home as that is chaos so I usually end up with pockets full of post it notes to remind me of stuff that I remember i need to do at work but never remember to do out of work. I usually only get reminded when my jeans (my usual attire!) get their pockets emptied for the wash!! :rotfl: Not so useful.......:rolleyes:Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

With all this jotting down going on, they'll be even more entries for the short story competitions thread. :rotfl:
I'm off to see how many notebooks I've started in the last few years.....stationery is a common weakness I've found amongst my female friends. Always a popular gift for nieces too. Funny how a pretty book with fresh clean pages can lift the spirits......I have loads0 -
It's nice that we're all so excited about diaries and notebooks!
I have a fetish for Moleskine notebooks, as used by Ernest Hemingway, Bruce Chatwin and other luminaries. They make me feel that my random jottings are the ideas that will form a great work of literature. As you can see I've fallen for the marketing literature. They have a handy expanding pocket for holding odd bits of paper and they are REALLY EXPENSIVE

HEHE I get that all the time, and even if they don't see inside my handbag I get funny looks at the size of it because of all the notebooks. My ex hubby didn't say anything but I know he was embarrassed. He kept suggesting tiny handbag you'd only be able to get a credit card and key in... not a chance! Official DFW Nerd #620 :cool:Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -

Moleskine's are lovely, me and a friend clubbed together bought one for another mate who was going abroad for a year so she could keep a journal, and hid all sorts of things on random pages and in the pocket for her to findDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
