Good news!! I have got a physio appointment on Wednesday! My GP rang them straight away after seeing me and they have a cancellation this week if I want it! Of course I said yes, so hopefully I can get back to full fitness pretty quickly :j
Good old NHS!! When I had Bupa cover I don't think I got appointments that quickly!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
That's good news about the physio and very quick. Make sure you're writing everything down so you can let the insurance company know how badly this had affected you xxJanuary budget

Thanks LJD - I am really pleased that I have such a quick appointment!
I have always felt uneasy about claiming on insurance, simply because I know more than one person who has made more of their "injury" than I see to be appropriate, one even admitted to me it was easy money!
So, for that reason, I am wary. I worry that they will find out my financial situation and think I am doing it for the money and no other reason. I worry too that they will not believe how much it hurts, although I think given the speed of the GP sorting out the physio, she agrees that it does.
So, I have the forms for the insurance injury claim but they remain not completed for the moment. I know I should put in a claim, but just worried that they will go against me - I think I am still wounded from my travel insurance claim!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno - you'll have your GP and the Physio to back up a claim for loss of earnings, so especially if the physio tells you not to do any reflexology clients for a while I shouldn't see a problem.
Wow on the speed of the appointment though - I guess that as self employed they figure if you can't work you can't pay NI & tax contributions...Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

I know. Isn't it strange though that even though we know we should do something, we are reluctant to do so.
I know people who would have had that form filled out before they had even gotten out of the car at the scene, given half a chance!!
I think I will wait until I have had my appointment on Wednesday and then perhaps give it a go.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hypno, just re the personal injury claim - they wont ask any questions about your finances. I know what you mean about feeling uneasy about it, and I know some people abuse the system, but you are genuinely injured and in pain.
All that happens is that you see their appointed specialist, who asks you a few questions about the pain you have/had, then he writes a report, which is forwarded to the solicitors, who then thrash out a settlement (they normally make an offer that's slightly too low, then your solicitor advises you not to accept it and puts in a counter offer (with your permission), which usually ends up being accepted).
I've known 7 people (2 separate car accidents) who have claimed, including my SIL and her husband, and this has been the case for every single one of them."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I know what you mean about the insurance claim but then you won't put in for more than you deserve just what you do deserve. You also have to remember that if you have to miss working for a couple of weeks then potentially you might lose a client who would have come for say 10 weeks (does that makes sense???). At least if you write everything down then you'll have it all doccumented if you do make a claim. Fingers crossed you'll be much better soon xxJanuary budget

Makes perfect sense, thank you.
I have started making some notes on the laptop, and will ask OH to have a look through before I send anything out later in the week.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
