Hypno's kick up the backside debt diary....

Hi KC, I am in two minds about the Madness concert - one half of me really is looking forward to it, reliving my youth, knowing all the words, all that stuff.
The other part, aches something rotten, can't throw off a headache and would rather be at home with a hot bath, some painkillers and an early night!!!
Everyone else there will be doing Nutty Dances, and I will be curled up on my blanket with my flask of coffee...........:o
As for the HP weekend - I am waiting until I go near Asda tomorrow. My shopping budget did not account for spending on books this month, so it has to be the cheapest place possible!! The kids do Karate next door to Asda on a Monday so I will nip in then....then we will fight between ourselves as to who reads it first!
Good timing though for it to be released the first week of the school holidays, must be plenty of grateful parents out there who are getting a bit of peace while little ones read the book!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. That reminds me of that saying "we will wait until we can afford it, to have kids" - you can never afford it, but somehow you manage!!
The idea is that we are debt free just before the oldest leaves high school, in 3 years time. The thought of that drives me on..........and on...........and on!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hi hypno! I hope you do go to the concert. You'll have such a good time, nutty dancing or not, and you'll think "Why did I even question coming here?"
Take care and avoid people leaping about and just have a good old sing song with them - especially Wings of a Dove & Night Boat to Cairo! - and revel in some time for you. Lord knows you deserve it hon.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Thanks LA, just about to load the picnic blanket and chairs (and a big brolly) in the car, and off to have dinner with friends who are coming with us, so hopefully a nice afternoon/evening ahead of us.
The sun is still shining here, but I am not too optomistic - I can see a grey cloud in the distance!
Will be singing at the top of my voice - Norfolk, you have been warned.......:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Well as the crow flies I am not *too* far away from you and it's been sunny spells and grey clouds all day with no rain so far.
I've just checked the Met Office site for you and it suggests cloudy but no rain for you. So I hope you'll be OK - good idea to take the brolly though just in case!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Well, the rain stayed away and we had a great evening at the concert.
There was a slight "blip" after 3 songs, because the computer that they use with the keyboards crashed and took an age to get up and running (they didn't have those problems in 1982 :rotfl: ). While we were waiting, Suggs apologised and told us we could all get a 20p refund. Of course the DFW in me is composing the letter to the ticket agency requesting the approved refund without delay. Sometimes you do wonder whether DFW seriously affects your ability to think in the real world!!
But everything got back to normal, we spent a total of £15 on extra drinks last night between 4 of us, and £5 on nibbles to take with us, so not bad really, and the cost of the tickets was paid for with a car boot sale so a DFW night all round.
I am at the GP this morning to see if I can get some physio sorted for my wrists, although I am sure there will be a very long waiting list for the NHS.
Today debt-busting wise, I am doing the shopping that I did not do yesterday - bread, milk and cat food type basic shop using nectar points only. I will also take a flask of coffee to karate to avoid having to pay costa packet prices for crappy costa coffee.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
