Hypno's kick up the backside debt diary....

Thanks all, but I think there must be more to it than that - I couldn't even get a current account earlier in the year. I didn't even want an overdraft or a debit card!! All I wanted was an account to put the child benefit in separately, and then to do standing orders out for the karate etc that they do, plus a cheque book for school trips etc!
So if I couldn't even get that, I must be a really bad risk
I think GTD that your conspiracy theory is spot on. Don't forget Seaxwyn has a devilish hand in all of this.........:rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I'm not going to even try for another one this year - all my payments are up to date, no arrangements entered into, even my overdraft is within limits!! So, we have no idea why really, other than me being self employed perhaps and our total borrowing still being quite high.
Oh well, as I say, I am not going to try again. Only so many knockbacks I can take.....
Hi Hypno - If it's any consolation after checking my credit score last night I applied for an egg card as it was a good score and no problems and they said no:( I have emailed them to ask why and if they will reconsider (you can but try)
Looking at my rating I have shut down 4 accounts recently but they are not showing as shut on my credit report - so maybe I will have to try in 6 months - I just want 0% - pleaseeeeeee0 -

Hi Hypno...just thought I'd pop in and say hi...that yoghurt seems to be going down well!!0

Just popping in to say hi as well. :hello:
Glad that the EBAY thing is on the way to being resolved but shame you may have to pay half when it wasn't your fault.
Take a deep breath love....give it a week and hopefully everything will be sorted, you'll have some tasty apple & ginger (and nutmeg!) yoghurt to feast on...and you'll have realised who needs the stinking credit cards anyway....
Bring on a new shiny week!
Oh heck...it's only Tuesday.....we must keep going!

Another day is upon us..........and today I resolve not to................apply for another credit card!!!!!
Last night I made a fab dinner - at Christmas our butcher gave us loads of sausagemeat stuffing with cranberry and I bunged it in the freezer. Yesterday it became meatball thingies which I then cooked with veggies and a jar of mystery shopping dolmio and pasta. All very yummy, and no-one realised it was leftover christmas stuffing!!
Today I am heading to the city for a coffee with a friend - she says she is paying so I hope so, otherwise it will be coming out of our meagre shopping budget.
I also need to get car insurance quotes sorted for the end of the week. Of course I am doing this through quidco - a DFWers best friend
I have one small mystery shop to do today, and I managed to pick up another one for next week - it all helps!
I also need to start thinking about presents for teachers next week. DS leaves primary so they will need "hurrah he's leaving" gifts. I thought I might make some home-made truffles or something, but perhaps the teachers amongst you can come up with some other delights, which won't break the bank?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I think you are def. straying into dangerous territory if you are trying to be chocolate free and planning to make chocolate truffles. It would be like leaving a shopaholic with a credit card.........it'll end in tears, don't do it!
On the other hand, in a former life I was a teacher and home-made chocolate truffles would have been FAR more welcome than some of the ornaments I received0 -
Hi OliveOyl :hello: I know what you mean about the chocolate thing!! But, in the interests of DFW ness it may be worth it
I have four teachers to buy for - so the other alternative is wine out of the wine rack which would be free, but I have no idea what sort of wine they each like, so it may be a big waste of something that just finds itself at the next school raffle
The school fete is next Tuesday - may do a trial run of truffles for the cake stall and see how they are received. That is, of course, if they get any further than my big mouth.....:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hi Hypno
My teacher friend says the most acceptable presents are wine or vouchers.
Four teachers  how come? I only give to the primary school class teachers - nothing to the secondary ones.
I must say I do it under duress. I'm not sure why teachers need presents for doing their job
Sorry if I've offended any teachers there - I have the greatest admiration for the profession, just don't understand the need for presents.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
