Well, for a few minutes anyway!!
Mind you, I am watching "Honey we're killing the kids" at the moment - almost makes me feel like a supermum! Home made yoghurt, flapjacks and EVERYTHING :rotfl:

Hi Hypno. I was asking about interest only versus repayment mortgage on my thread and Seaxwyn suggested I come in and have a read here. None the wiser lol. Can see both sides as in I really want rid of debt so I can move to a bigger house but can understand the need to continue paying off secured loans. Oh dear decisions decisions and I'm a Gemini and we cant make decisions5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
Hi,
Just saying hello, been reading the thread. Brings back many memories of times in our past of just about surviving financially.
Going to end up with a mortgage/debt again so already planning how to get rid of it asap.
Anyway, one idea for yoghurts is pureed apple and ginger, it's really nice.
For skiing, have you kept in touch with any of the Norwegian families, and are any of them from skiing areas? Might they be interested in an house exchange? Admittedly you'd need to take a load of food over with you in the car as scandinavia isn't cheap. Otherwise there's house exchange sites like Homelink, I've used it a few times, and it's been really good, although admittedly I've not used it for skiing holidays. Homelink do have an annual subscription though.0 -
Hi there se999 - I had not thought about using ginger with the apples, but as we have loads of frozen apples I will give this a go. Also have some nutmeg so that will go well too I expect!
As for the Norwegians, we are lucky in that the family of the first teenager we hosted have a ski apartment! A couple of years ago some international races were there and OH and DS went over and stayed in the apartment but last year's races were cancelled due to a lack of snow!!!
I have been thinking about asking to go over there for a "non-racing" holiday next winter which is certainly a possibility. If we can find some local races there it might satisfy the kids competitive element, but sadly I don't think their race calendar includes anything in Norway that will count towards their seed points, and the "big competition" that they want to enter at Easter will probably have to go by the wayside.
Also, although the cost of the apartment would be negligable, sadly food out there is phenomenally expensive! And car hire for the week is very high too, far higher than we have ever paid elsewhere, which means that if we are not careful it could be counter-productive!!
Will look into it though.......thanks for the prompt!!

Me too - need to get dressed and have some breakfast (oh, the lack of routine when you are self employed from home!).....
Today I have managed to pick up a couple of last minute mystery shops - nothing too exciting, only £6 each, but better than nothing.
Also looking into the electricity saving thing prompted by Crown's post today. My monthly DD for gas/electric combined is £147 - need to get this down asap!
Have also got log in details today for www.annualcreditreport.co.uk which I am hoping will give me a free alternative to creditexpert, as we currently each pay £5.99 a month for that. If it is any good, those 2 direct debits will be cancelled today.
Plus, my new phone supplier has started a phone insurance which I don't want but seem to have been charged £7.99 for it last month. Need to get on to them - I never asked for it so want it cancelled and my money back!!
Finally, a trawl of the bank accounts shows that I am still paying £7.99 for a monthly diet website thing  How have I missed that? Need to get shot of that pretty quickly.
I think we have resolved the ebay thing - the guy has withdrawn the negative feedback, thankfully and we have been communicating via e-mail. It seems to have got damaged in the post, so no-ones fault but I have offered to refund him half the total cost so hopefully I can do that today and draw a line underneath it. I cannot believe how much this upset me though!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Morning hypno. Wow, great idea from se999 about the house-swap. I wonder if you could look into house-swaps in other skiing places.
Do you have friends at Norwich University? They could place an ad for you on the university intranet, where there will be lots of people looking to come to Norwich. A friend of mine who works at a University in the Netherlands sorts out all his holidays this way - just states the week he wants to swap and the country he wants to go to and hey presto! house-swap arranged!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
