Hypno's kick up the backside debt diary....

Can I just say, I really admire the way that even tho you work from home, you keep going, keep working. I'm in the same situation, but I don't commit to it like that, I just don't work hard enough - or smart enough, either - to get out of my current situation. I think, in the same way that I've managed to keep a spending diary for a few months now, I'm going to have to keep a time diary - it will make me think about how I spend my time, and I'll be able to analyse what I do more accurately - maybe I *do* work hard, I don't know. Sorry for the hijack, hypno, but when I hear about your life, I really know that I need to get my act together <intense admiration here <g>>2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hi KC, you make me sound like superwoman, and much as I like that, it simply isn't true - I too spend far too much time doing stuff I don't need, when I should be out there getting new clients in! My house is a tip and my legs need shaving..........:o
As for keeping a time diary, when I was a lawyer, I had to keep timesheets. Every hour was split into 10 units of 6 mins and you had to account for each unit - even if you went to the toilet you had to mark it down as "personal time". At the end of each day our timesheets were handed in and all activity logged onto a system for billing clients. If we had not done 5 and a half hours of chargeable time by the end of the day, words were said.....woe betide you if you had several days where you had too much "personal time". When I was pregnant, and had morning sickness, I was scared to hand in my timesheet!
I vowed when I left that I would never do anything similar again - a list of intended tasks at the beginning of the day is about as far as I go now!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Wow - personal time accounted for, for loo breaks! Unreal.
What a different world.....

Hi LA, yes - filling in timesheets is fairly standard for most law firms I think, or it certainly was when I was in the industry a few years ago. Never want to go back to that now!
I have had a lazy day really - housework still needs doing.....but on ebay, we have raised about £120 on things that have sold today :T I have to say thanks to Sea78 because I have sold my tesco clubcard vouchers for way above face value, thanks to her suggestion - I was all ready to use them for my groceries  Valuable lesson learnt.
Now sitting here watching Live Earth trying to teach DD how to sew a hem. She is getting very frustrated over something so simple, and yet when I was her age I was sewing my clothes from patterns and remnants!!
Dinner tonight is "rice porridge" - basically rice pudding but the Norwegians have it as a main meal on Saturdays and it makes for a cheap meal - one of the good legacies we have had from having Norwegians with us for the last three years!
Also, as I have a love of puddings, this gives me a good excuse to indulgeSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Am just looking through Nigella Lawsons "Feast" book to prepare Gammon with cherry coke for the slow cooker ready for tomorrow's lunch. Everything that I have done from her books has turned out well, so hopefully this will be no disappointment, although it does sound a little strange.
I bought the gammon on the market when I was with P on Friday, so could justify the cost of the cherry coke.
Oh, and I had some of the home made yoghurt today - it is fab!! DS has decided he likes it when he adds a dollop of jam - so success all round.
I will make my meagre budget last.......I will.......I will.....:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I read about time sheets when I read "The Firm" I recall!
Well done on the EBAY sales today. I'm so frustrated as I don't really have much to sell these days and I'd love to be able to make £150 - £200 between now and the end of September.
Things just go for pennies though (my stuff I mean) and I haven't got much to sell at pennies so....dilemma. It's so sickening a s well when you list stuff and they don't sell at all! :mad:Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

So anyway - how do you sell club card vouchers for above face value!
Do you mean the "£3.00 off £20 shopping" type of vouchers? Or clothing vouchers or what...? The ones you get with your statement? I'm intrigued.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
