Sorry elantan, didn't mean to tempt you....promise I wont post any more pictures of them! (only posted it here to prove to hypno that I'd actually bought some lol)

Ski racing? That sounds fab if a little scary. There's a ski slope near us but I've never been. My only experience of skiing was on one of those slopes that's like an upside down bristle brush when I was 16, which ended in a broken finger!

LOL at the upside down bristle brush as that is exactly what they will be doing, except they go about 4 times a week and we spend many weekends during the summer touring said bristle slopes for races!

They much prefer snow but going abroad is so expensive so they don't get to do as much as they would like, obviously, and even the Xscape slopes like the one near you are far far more expensive. The ski club near us has a fab scheme where you get an hour of skiing for every hour that you help out at the club, so if you volunteer for a few hours a week, then you get all of that time back in skiing for you or your kids! Very DFW and without it they wouldn't be able to go at all!

BTW, I broke both my thumbs racing on the bristle brush stuff - I think my race days are over

Gosh, they must be good skiers!

Yes, Xscape is a fab place but I've only ever been there for lunch or to the cinema, never actually been on the slope itself! We sneak up to the bar to watch the other skiers sometimes though, and it looks fun. You can go tobogganning there too, which I DO quite fancy. :D

Hahaha, never thought of that! I think the fear alone of hurtling down a slope at god knows how many miles an hour would bring the contractions on.

Word of warning for anyone hoping to go to Castleford Xscape in the next five weeks - if you see a heavily pregnant woman munching on jaffa cakes with a couple of bags nearby, please please please call an ambulance and get her to the maternity ward pronto.....Thank you x

The two are often mistaken for each other I am lead to believe by colleagues of mine who are also midwives!

After a long day out yesterday I started off today absolutely shattered but have just had a little burst of energy and have actually done stuff!!

I have a chicken carcass boiling away in the kitchen and will hopefully discover something OS stylee and delicious to do with the resultant stock, and I have almost finished cleaning the kitchen :T

Snaggles - perhaps some of your nesting instinct is rubbing off on me, (no, there is nothing I need to tell you, or OH for that matter, my baby making days are long gone).

The new laptop created a bit of a stir on Saturday when we discovered it was not the spec that we had been promised, so OH got onto PC world immediately and managed to get a credit note (better than nothing but would have preferred refund to credit card) of £43. Enough to buy some ink and bits and pieces so not to be sneezed at!

This morning the post brought a letter to say that a summer camp the children are registered for has been cancelled so the deposit cheque for £50 was enclosed! I couldn't really afford for them to go to summer camp anyway, so now we have £50 towards spending money for our Devon holiday in August!

And I have resolved the ebay issue, agreeing a reduced price with the buyer and refunding the difference. Still gutted over it but seems to have worked out fairly I think, given the circumstances, and saves any sort of dispute or negative feedback which is just as important.

So, hopefully this week will be a little better and more positive than the last couple. About time!!!

    Hi Hypno,

Glad things are getting sorted out one by one, you're doing really well with this year's target too :j

With the stock - you can freeze it remember in boxes, then loosen & store in a freezer bag for when you need them. My personal recommendation for chicken stock though has got to be leek & potato soup (mmmm) especially on a miserable grey day like today!

Doh, forgot about freezing it - how thick can I be!!

I love leek and potato soup, with grated cheese on top!!! Have got some sprouty spuds kicking around the cupboard, so could make a batch of that this week - thanks for the idea!
