A mixed morning so far.
I have sold something on ebay for the very lovely and useful price of £285 and the money is in paypal already, but it appears that we may have accidentally described it wrong in the spec on ebay and now it looks as though we have caused ourselves a problem. That, I suppose, is one of the difficulties when selling stuff that you know nothing about (this was some of my dad's stuff). But sure as anything, the money will be going back out of paypal and we will have to start again, won't make as much as it seems we have got the "lesser" model and will have to pay the fees and stuff for two sales rather than one.
But my friend came over this morning and we dug a good amount of the garden over and planted some fabby plants that should look great in a few weeks time. It already looks better than it did (although as my friend says, it was hard to be any worse) and I do feel as though I achieved something.
And the new laptop has arrived :j so that is going through the motions of being set up so that I can catch up with the work that I need to have out by the weekend that I cannot do on this PC because Noah brought it with him from the Ark.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno06,
Just a random post. I read your thread earlier this week and as posted it really inspired me to look at mine. Since then I have all my debts in order (on pc) have told my OH and have only spent 50p!! You're magic!! I don't know what it was but a combination of your thread and finally telling OH everything has given me a new and positive outlook on it all - I feel like I have had a second LBH and this time it feels real. Does that make any sense?? I must sound mad!!
Anyway, me and OH have set a date (25th May) to look at and go through finance again as then bills would have been paid for another month and with any luck the aim is to be able to clear my smallest debt (debenhams of £409) in full!!
Thanks again xx0 -
With the thing on Ebay - have you spoken to the buyer and offered it at a lower price? If they don't want it could you offer it as a 2nd chance?
I'm sure there's something on Ebay about not having to pay fees if the transaction doesn't go through for a variety of reasons, so might be worth a check.Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hi Hypno06,

I reckon that most of us have a flickering of the lightbulb before the full LBM so maybe that is what has happened to you! However it happened, it is fab to read that you are going from strength to strength. I love these boards, because no matter what I need - support, a laugh, practical advice or the latest poll about SS's gentialia, I can get it from the DFWs :T It is what gets me through!
Keep on posting and be proud of what you are acheiving.
Storm - yes I e-mailed the buyer this morning but have not heard anything yet. I am just mighty peeved that we managed to make such a big mistake. Not as peeved as OH is though because he is the one who listed it so is getting the full force of my  today.....:rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi Hypno, I didn't realise you had a diary (how did I miss it??), so I've just sat and read the whole thing - you're doing so well. Sorry to hear about your eBay troubles and the phone, hope you get them sorted out.
I know what you mean about coming on here - some days you need real financial advice, some days you just need a laugh to get you through the day, and you can always find both on here.
Have a lovely day, hope it's sunny where you are xxx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
hi Snaggles and welcome to my little extension of real life that is my diary
The sun is shining but it is a chilly wind so being in the conservatory is the best thing here. Still, at least it is sunny and not raining, snowing or even worse!
More importantly, have you got those jaffa cakes yet? I will not rest until I know that they are safely in your hospital bag :EasterBunSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. I haven't bought them yet lol, but I think I will pop to the supermarket later for them, as I have been told off today (on my thread) for not having packed my bag yet
so I need to get it done.
As we speak, there's a pile of clothes and random toiletries in a pile on the bedroom floor, so progress IS being made!
I wonder how many packets I'll need......"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hi Hypno just popped across to say hi and that I've just read the whole of your diary and to congratulate you on all your achievements so far this year that's no mean feat...well done!!!...what an interesting read it has been and I'm so glad you enjoyed your holiday ...keep posting ..as it's a lovely diary and you offer a lot of support on here to everyone...I can't see why you need a kick up the backside though!!!0
-
Thanks girls for the input and the continued support - I certainly do need a kick up the backside to help keep the momentum going - I have achieved so much on the DFW front since I joined up in December and there would be a danger of getting complacent or falling off the wagon if I did not have, well if not actual kicks, at least swift taps of the toes!
Snaggles, if you do not get those jaffa cakes soon, I am personally going to get them delivered to you by Tesco - there must be a free delivery code on this board somewhere that I can use
Taxi, how are you feeling hun, I hope you have got your feet up and are managing to enjoy your enforced rest!
OH got paid from his second job today so that money went straight to MBNA as an overpayment. It comes to almost exactly the same amount as the laptop cost yesterday so at least we won't have actually increased the debt even if we haven't reduced it by much more. I am really pleased though because I am on target with my overpayments this month so the snowball is looking good!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Lol, tomorrow, I promise! Didn't get chance to buy them this evening, because I actually packed my hospital bag...well, one of them - decided to take two, one for me, and one for the baby, rather than having everything jumbled up in a big bag. So I'm half way there."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
