  • I wouldn't bet on it. Some of us are a little more discerning.

:rotfl: I like it! Gives me a little boost when I'm worried about not being a nimble 19 yo any longer! :rotfl:

There's no doubt that being sexually attractive is seen as more important in women. But I disagree that men are represented in a "range of ways". Men are expected to be strong, tough, brave, chivralous etc. How many kind, caring, sensitive men get represented in hollywood, adverts etc? Men and women both have societies expectations layed on them. It's just they are difference expectations.

There are expectations, I agree, though there are many, many kind, caring and sensitive men represented in hollywood. Too many to name but a few include the men in Buffy, Frasier, Friends, West Wing, Bones, Wizard of Oz, Dan in Real Life, Little House On the Prairie, Will and Grace, Good Will Hunting, every Pixar film I can think of and so on and so on.
Just because it says so in the Mail, doesn't make it true.

I've got ADHD. You can ask me about it but I may not remember to answer...

I take your point, but equally not all the women in the above examples are there because they are sexually attractive!

I think its for the couple themselves to decide that. Me personally I wouldn't and couldn't live with that

I suspect that many people would agree with you.

Is it the danger of emotional involvement? If there was some sexual incompatibility as previously mentioned, would it be more acceptable if they visited a service provider, perhaps a male or female escort/sex therapist so that it was simply a physical experience with no scope for emotional involvement? Perhaps the true test of love would be to license your partner to continue to experience the joy of sex rather than to deny it due to an incompatibility?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I think the first problem is in the notions of what 'people' like to look at, in that we all, without being bombarded with things telling us what we 'should' like to look at, will be attracted to different properties.

And the second problem is in the constant concern about what sort of women people want to look at and why this is so - we do not have naked and semi naked men so frequently displayed.

Well Gingham..speaking personally !!!!!! doesnt really hold a significant place in my life. I am not an avid viewer and i wouldnt be bothered if i never saw it any more. I can take it or leave it. As for the kind of women, well I find ordinary everyday women attractive. Mega thin supermodels do nothing for me. I could sit in my local high street and see beauty all around from the pretty teenage girl, through the yummy mummy with a pushchair and shopping and the older woman who is stylish and confident. Some women can be a little insecure and too hard on themselves :)

It depends on extremes of course. I don't think a small amount either way is a worry. Being very underweight is more immediately dangerous than being very overweight though they both carry risks.

You don't have to be very underweight to start causing yourself serious health issues, but most people have to be obese rather than just overweight to give themselves problems.

Its better to be a little bit overweight than a little bit underweight. That's why our bodies store fat so efficiently.

I have only really seen bikini adverts in the bravissimo catalogue, so I had no idea just how skinny the models have become. Naturally, all the women are big breasted as that is the market they are providing clothing for, but otherwise there is a wider range of sizes in evidence, making a much healthier situation in my opinion.

    http://www.bravissimo.com/products/s...show=16&sort=1

Most women with boobs that big are bigger than the ladies on that website though.

I used to work for a womens retailer, and when they did the DDplus swimwear shoots, they used to use normal models and stuff the bras with tissue/chicken fillets etc. I was shocked when I first found out.

Good question. In my opinion the answer is yes. Look at the difference between the women in the bravissimo catalogue and the ones in the link. They are all posing and looking their best. The bravissimo girls though are relaxed, happy and vibrant looking and the other girls look like they've been photoshopped to ridiculous lengths and are posed in sexually provocative ways.

Its also the difference between the type of photography they have gone for which could be down to budget etc.

But yes I agree some of the poses have absolutely nothing to do with showing off the bikini! But not all of the women look like that though on that website.

It amuses and annoys me in equal measures that you can turn on the TV at pretty much any time of day or night and 99% of the time you'll only see attractive women. Women in probably the top 10% of attractiveness.

Men however, you can see all kinds of men, short ones, fat ones, tall ones, handsome ones, ugly ones, hairy ones, bald ones.
