TBH I don't watch any of them apart from Frazier and Friends, and I wouldn't say Daphne is particularly attractive, and in Friends the blokes are as good looking as the women I think?

As for overweight, are there any overweight men in any of the above?

You don't think she's attractive and that's perfectly ordinary, but by any standard she's extremely attractive.

The men in Friends are good looking but Matthew Perry's weight goes up and down and Mat Le Blanc's weight steadily increases throughout (as to a lesser extent does David Schwimmer's). Do you think the girls would have got away with that? The girls' characters are all 'sexy' too and 2 out of the 3 boys are decidedly rubbish in that area.

Overweight men? Giles wasn't skinny, unlike all the female cast in Buffy and Xander gained weight throughout. The president in the West Wing (the amazing Martin Sheen) wasn't skinny either, unlike all the female cast. Frasier - not an overly slender man either. Think of the hugely successful, charismatic and sexy Edward James Olmos - the scars on his face would just be unacceptable in a female actor in the vast majority of cases.

It's the BBC too as we learnt last year in case anyone was in doubt and it happens in every profession too - I'm not the only person here, I'm sure, who worked with men who admitted that they had a bet on to see who could hire the most 'fit girls' or some other aberration.

Wasn't Daphne one of the ladies on Benny Hill's show?

    Really? Which one is she?

Joking aside, you do have a point but you do vastly exaggerate it...
I think we've decidedly underplayed it.

Don't be daft! My wife occasionally buys Cosmopolitan. There are blokes in their pants all over the place.

    Pots and kettles.

    For example. Cosmopolitan Jan 2012 Australian edition, provocative pant blokes on pages 31, 70, 77, 88, 94, 100-104, 138-140 & 144. I feel quite inadequate. Boo hoo :(

After reading this post I had to flick through my latest edition of Glamour mag which is Britain's Number 1 selling magazine and count the number of naked men or near naked men - do you know how many I counted?! A big, fat zero!! Clearly I'm reading the wrong types of magazines. Compare that to how many naked or near naked women you will find in the mens equivalant! Its just not fair!! :rotfl:

I'm sorry but "99% of the time you'll only see attractive women." is an exaggeration.

Now please excuse me while I get off to watch Last of the Summer Wine, Benidorm and Meet the Romans while trying to avoid drooling too much ;)

I think of sex as part of the relationship, and something that waxes and wanes like all the other aspects. Its not central, or to one side, or separate - its part of it. Its as integral as laughing together, talking together, having joint finances, going on holiday. Its another form of communication and togetherness.

Its when it has a different focus or purpose that it becomes a problem - one sided, depression issues, health issues, relationship troubles, abuse and so on.

I personally feel its one of the most important parts of a relationship. Along with patience.

Now find me 50 more women who are on primetime TV but aren't stereotypically attractive.

Its undeniable, so what's the point in denying it? Even female politicians are judged on their appearance.

So do the male ones. Eric Pickles and John Prescott were attacked far more than Anne Widdecombe ever was.
