If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.

Do any of the phone shops (on every corner) unlock ? if not, how is it done? presumably electronically?

I'm sure you mean SIM card, not SD card, which is a totally different thing (you store data on an SD card - has nothing to do with mobile communications). What's more, if you keep saying SD card when you mean SIM card, it may increase the confusion, as some of the sticks actually have an SD card reader in them as well, and you can use them as a memory stick when you have an SD card inside.

    Well spotted Uplink!

The corner shops will do it but more likely charge you a tenner. Just check the ebay sellers rep and the amount of codes sold or the threads for unlicking. I've used ebay sellers to unlock my Mifi and Moto G and Huwaei phones with no problem.

Don't get old because when you do, your grey matter can easily let you down. Of course I meant SIM. Glad you were keeping an eye on me.

You would not believe I am trying to resolve TWO problems today. I will spend some time thinking this through. If and when it is unlocked and I find a provider that sells a SIM that is suitable for my needs, how easy is it really to set it up?.

The other isue has nothing to do with phones/tablets etc, but Google Earth.

I have had it long ago (on laptop) and have also removed a couple of things from add/remove that I didn't know what they were, so may have contributed to this, but, following install of GE, it starts off OK but then informs me that :-

"Loading My Places.Kml including enabled overlays" has caused an issue and it closes down.

I googled this and thousands of people world wide have also experienced it. I read a solution to >control panel>folder options>view or in explorer windows>tools menu>folder options>view

then rt click>rename existing "my places KML" also see file called "my places.KML back up and change name to "my placesKML", but you guessed it, sod all.

  • Logging onto my ads this morning, it seems that Samba Mobile has had to close down. What a sad day.

At least something that seemed too good to be true lasted 2 years.

    Oh piffle samba has died.
I did wonder why the ads were so few the last few days .
Why on earth dont they tell people things are not going well?
Then at least if you have some data earned, you could use it.

Just to add, my dongle is still working so I don't know if we will continue to be able to use up data already earned. Samba say they had to prepay for data before allocating it so if that is true, it should also be true that any data you have 'earned' ought to be yours anyway, just as it is if you had bought a top up.

I did say a few posts early I wonder if this was going the same way as Ovuvo but was accused of scaremongering. Sad day as I relied on Samba for Unexpiring data. I will have to go back to 90 day sims from Three or T mobile.

Where is the cheapest place to get one of these 90 day sims? I see curry's are doing a 1gb 30 day sim for ,£2.99
